They got pretty close with this, using capos:



When my band did the White Album (our version was called the Shite Album) I used mandolin for "Wild Honey Pie". Sounded just like the original except for the tape capstan manipulation. Hard to sing that...

Also used it in this one, which I'm pretty sure is in the original:
