so some are contractors and some federal employees.
Airports can opt out.
And no set rules. Private consulting firms are involved in setting up the procedures.
It does not say who pays for them though. I assume the feds are paying unless the airport opts out and the airport has to pay?

I guess the Government can do anything now. Anybody remember the Constitution? The Government should not be allowed to force any humiliation it wants to in the name of protecting the People. Oh well,it looks like the ignorant sheep will line up and take any humiliation the Government forces on them. You do get the Government you choose i guess. You're all Terrorists now. What a country.

The neocons speak about limited government, but never have a problem throwing the Constitution out the window and giving the Feds carte blanche when it comes to "security", no matter how ineffective those methods may be.

I believe it states in the article the Feds pick up the cost regardless.

Oh, and here is another bit of information. The presence of TSA at the airports isn't even mandatory.

Amid airport anger, GOP takes aim at screening | Washington Examiner
Regardless, any private firms have to follow TSA rules and procedures.

No they don't. They have the freedom to innovate and experiment with various methods. That's the whole point of allowing for private agencies. Read the whole article.

Who sets security standards for airports that have transitioned to SPP?
TSA sets the security protocols and standards for all commercial airports nationwide, to include airports participating in SPP.

Neocons/Socialists/Progressives...They're the same entity in the end. They all agree on much more than they will ever admit.

I don't think it's ineffective to full body scan someone in regards to finding Dangerous Materials. I also think that it's not some Giant breach of Civil Liberty to be searched for safety measures to Travel on a Privately owned Plane as a paid-for-voluntarily-------service.

Nobody is forcing anyone to fly, same as noone forces you to join the Military and shower nekked next to Harvey Milk's 2nd Cousins. It's a Volunteer force, it's a Volunteer Plane Ride, and so your Civil Liberties are protected if you'd like them to be. Don't Fly.

Airline Companies also have a stake in protecting their fleet and their good name also.

It's also laughable to giggle at someone who you say is skurred to get their plane bombed.......(death)
Meanwhile using the skurred theme, you're skurred to have your junk patted to help avoid such a thing...boohoo. Who's skurred of something more ridiculous?>

Neither. I don't use that phony train of thought.

The Government cannot force any humiliation it chooses on the People. This aggression will not stand. It doesn't matter that it's in the name of protecting the People. There are still limits. Airlines are private companies but the TSA is a Government agency. They don't have limitless power. This fight is only just beginning. The Constitution will win out in the end. I'm optimistic about that.

They're not forcing anything until you're forced to fly, retard.

Big Brother will be checked. Wait and see. Their power is not limitless. The People will win in the end. It may take awhile but they will win. I have to believe that.

I would like for the uber-libs who love to blame all things Booooooosssssssshhhhhhhhh for all the vils of the universe to review the legislation that created the TSA and the DHS. Please find the relevant section in which groping 3 year olds and feeling-up nuns was ever a part of that legislation.

It takes an ADMINISTRATIVE determination to make such moronic choices. And it's happening NOW.

Ergo, some people might conclude that President Obama's Administration has at least a little bit of responsibility here.

I could care less in general if a Nun gets Searched.
