When I was a kid, I looked forward for WEEKS to Halloween night, when I could go walk the neighborhood, knock on doors, and collect my candy and treats. I never knew who was going to open the door, or what was around to scare me!

The tradition is all but DEAD now, thanks entirely to Liberalism taking root in America. This great American tradition has been replaced with "Trunk or Treat"

I attended the one held at the town square a few years ago. I almost cried, seeing the big circle of cars with the front wheels against the curbs, and the "adults" sitting in folding chairs next to the trunks or rear hatches of their vehicles. No costumes. No spooky music. Just blaring street lights, and ordinary music being played with something different on each radio.

The kids stood in a LINE, and one by one, they walked from vehicle to vehicle and held open their bags for the candy.

Many of these adults were tossing candy into bags with one hand, while they were texting with the other.

I felt so sorry for the children, who have NO CLUE what Halloween is supposed to be.

"There you go, KC. Blaming it all on LIBERALS!"

Yes. Yes I do. The tradition of letting kids go out Trick-or-Treating died when LIBERALS insisted that pedophiles should not be publicly identified, and they worked tirelessly to create a society of neighborhoods where it isn't even safe for your kids to play outside in front of their own homes. They started with the needles and razor blades in the candy back in the late 60s, and suddenly hospitals were offering free X-Rays of bags of candy, to detect horrible additions placed there by monsters who should be hung in the public square.

They destroy everything they touch, and Halloween is no exception.

Trunk or Treat? I'd rather take my kids to a movie. At least they wouldn't feel like nameless Socialists standing in a food line.

Thank your democratic homo's who help this propaganda become reality.

There is no halloween tradition. It was a fun night for kids in the first half of the 20th century but has regressed into mostly adult perversion and a money making opportunity for candy manufactures (and dentists). About forty years ago lefties convinced kids to beg for money "trick-or-treat for UNICEF" when they didn't have a clue about the U.N. and most likely kept the money.

Why is it somebody else's fault you (0P) or your town doesn't know how or care about having a nice Halloween parade, celebration, and events? Bad people caused difficulties and safety concerns so folks adapted and changed the nature of celebrating Halloween so kids could participate in the holiday safely. We have spooky hayrides, several parades to choose from, merchants hand out candy and dress up in costumes, and parents take their kids to homes of relatives, friends, and neighbors who often have their homes decorated with lights and lawn decorations of ghosts, witches, etc. Everyone has a wonderful time. Kids get more candy than they can eat without getting sick.

Funny.
In my exurban area, Halloween is alive and well. Many neighbors deck out their houses, hook up a trailer to tow a group of kids behind a wheeler or tractor. Dozens of kids at a time visiting the house.

Of course my county claims to be the first to celebrate Halloween. Whole town is decked out.
The History of Anoka Halloween | The Halloween Capital of the World!

I was in Cali a few years back on Halloween night.

We had trick-or-treaters until about 11 when we ran out of candy; this was after we went to Ralph’s for more candy because we ran out earlier.

it’s alive and well in San Diego.

Most parents in Red states know they can’t trust their drunk, armed, and angry neighbor so they do the Trunk or Treat. Can’t say I blame them

Yeah, it sucks. We used to do the same. Wander until well past dark as a group or even solo.

Was definitely fun. We also used to play baseball and basketball many nights until dark. Kids don't do that unsupervised very much anymore either where I live.

Baseball fields after school used to have kids on them playing pickup ball. Same with basketball. Not as much any more. I have literally never, ever seen a pickup baseball game in the area I live in now.

We'd organize it during the week and up to 30 kids would show up, amazingly without the help of smartphones and google maps, complete with all the hardware, water jugs etc. It was an event. I still talk to many of those guys and we were 10-12ish playing those games. We'd play against punks from other schools, have tournaments etc., and did all of that shit completely on our own.

The world has changed, and not for the better in some ways.

Fucking sick bastards running all over the place and parents are afraid their kids are going to end up getting abducted and tossed in a landfill, so instead of kicking the kids out the front door to go find some trouble on their own we've got crazy shit like play dates and trunk or treat.....Fuckin' sucks. And then there's video games, which have them sitting in front of a TV instead of outside.

I had a blast as a kid. My kid won't have anything remotely like that sort of freedom to roam and run and explore that I did, and that just flat out blows......

Nice try.
Anoka county is extremely red.
We gave you Michele Bachman.
Its the tender foots in the Twin Cities who have to virtue signal their costumes as not to offend.

Our little town still has a Christmas parade each year. Two years ago, I decided to WOW! the town and introduce my hobby shop skills to the community, so I arrived with my entry and won 'Grand Champion' of the parade. I went all out, and raised the bar for the community. They still talk about it.

I built this entire float in 12 days, start to finish. Rather than tear down the float like most people do, I built it with the intent of converting it into a storage shed after the parade. We are finishing up the conversion in the next several days.

My plan was to make this an annual tradition, but some things changed, and I lost interest in "holding the Title."

Seems the the neighborhood trick or treat is a thing of the past. For the past 3 years we have had zero kids come by the house,
Schools and Churches have be having Halloween parties, use to take my girls to the Sawgrass Mills Mall where each store was passing out candy to the kids

This has been going on for years. Churches have been doing them for a long time.

Someone felt a need to mindlessly rant.

Recalling a better time in America, namely, the period before LIBERALISM took root in this country, is not "mindlessly ranting." It is pointing out the FACT that a great American tradition was ruined by liberals.

If I had kids, I wouldn't even bother with Halloween now. I would tell them what it used to be like, and then I'd take them somewhere to do something fun and memorable. Walking a mall from store to store to hold open a bag for candy is NOT a memory a child can treasure.

Rant away. There are legit rants and then there are mindless rants.......

Find something legit.

When my son was small trick or treating was over and done with quickly. The big party was at the park. There were games and prizes. Everyone went. Even teens were there with younger siblings.

Then came diversity. Blacks and Hispanics moved in. The park party became home to gang fights
Older children would prey on the young ones screaming at them, hitting them, taking their cheap prizes. Parents held tight to little hands. Drug tranactions became common. Drunk and drugged teenagers vomiting in the grass, screaming at nothing or passed out took every bit of fun out of what was once a very fun time for the little ones.

Diversity is our virtue. Ain't it grand?

Amazon pays money for short story fiction.

It is said that soon the white race will be the minority in this country. They are of course celebrating this news. I wonder who is going to pay for their welfare, and their food stamps, and their healthcare, and the education of their larvae, when the white man becomes a minority in America? The reason the white population is declining in numbers, is because we are too busy paying for all of the social leeches of the "diverse minorities" who multiply like flies on the back of a garbage truck, and then demand that the white man pay to support them. Diversity is a black mold that is spreading across this country, and when it takes over, America is done.

Ya Nasty! Kentucky Siblings Indicted on Incest Charges After Having Hillbilly Brother-Sister Sex

Sex with animals is no joke, senator says. But it's legal in Kentucky
A state lawmaker says it's finally time to outlaw sex with animals in Kentucky.

Kentucky is one of five states where bestiality is legal, but a measure filed in the state Senate this week would ban the act. ...this law ended in 2019!!!

Do not assume that someone who currently resides in Kentucky is a "dumb hillbilly." I moved here in 2011, to get away from the brain dead liberals in Southern CommieFornia. I do like it here, and I will agree with you that Kentucky has its share of problems with opioids and education and welfare, but that doesn't mean a grand tradition in America should be destroyed.
