It's inconsistent to say we're not going to be in the Middle East] for endless, senseless wars and then to send US troops to defend Saudi Arabia

One of the things that Bin Laden said motivated him to attack America — it's not a justification, obviously; it was terrible, and he got what he deserved — but one of the things he said that motivated him were US troops in what they considered to be Islamic holy land. And so I think having troops in Saudi Arabia becomes a magnet for all the crazy jihadists around the world to motivate them to attack again

sending any Americans troops to any where in Middle east no matter the reason is a terrible idea and is inexcusable;

Trump says they´re paying up. Isn´t that a difference? Merc-Prez Trump, it was part of his campaign 2016.
Houthis are wrecking havoc in Saudi Arabia and its shiny army can´t do shit about that.

MbS is in trouble ... Saudi conservatives hate him ... and now his little war in Yemen is going to shit ... either the USA bails out his fiefdom or MbS is going to have to make peace with the Iranians ...

Keep your friends close , keep your enemies closer .

The saudi slush fund for terrorist facilitation to normalize its psychotic ideology and foster emigration and infiltration of the west has more influence over us politics than any russian mole or troll has ever had .

The left wing press takes its money and banters its cause for deceit and the right wing simply looks the other way .

About 1,800 Troops can hardly be considered a "deployment". We have more people on a single aircraft carrier. Unfortunately CNN's dwindling audience needs their daily dose of anti-American conspiracy theories or they might dry up.

It appears to be mostly aircraft and anti-aircraft/missile forces.

I guess they don't want a repeat of the port drone/missile attacks from the summer.

And with the Saudis trying to go through a liberalization process (at least by their standards) anything to keep the current government stable there is a good thing.

What if the US was completely out of the middle east and Afghanistan.

That would be a good thing, right?
