We know exactly what they do, and how and why China and the EU have been using them for years. The US used to use tariffs a lot, we only dropped them after WWII because all of our competition was literally destroyed. Well, those countries have rebuilt and have become thriving economies again, yet we have been continuing to keep the same trade policy as if it was the 1950’s. But now the EU is almost as strong as the US, as is China. Finally we have a President willing to negotiate new trade pacts that help keep our jobs in the US while allowing us to compete in the world.
