Records show Seoul existed on the Han River 4,000 years ago. It is so close to North Korea because the DMZ was established in 1948 along the 38th Parallel, dividing the Communist North from the capitalist south. Russia briefly controlled the north while the US had the south.

Trump raised a very interesting point as it related to the tense nuclear stand-off between him and his new love interest, Kim-Jong-Un....but it is a very important question, why is Seoul so close to North Korea??

Seoul is 35 miles from the DMZ, well within range of the hundreds of North Korean artillery pieces targeted on them.

They do need to move.
