How is the raise in standard deduction with the elimination of personal deductions a good thing?

What middle-class workers need is a raise, a BIG raise.

I will be going from the standard deduction with two exemptions to double the standard deduction and no exemptions, and a 3% reduction in my tax bracket. That is a BIG raise.
