Trump Supporters to be Hit Hardest by GOP Healthcare Plan

Did anyone watch the MSNBC Chris Hayes town hall special from McDowell County, West Virginia tonight? They voted for Trump. They are a sadly poor and stupid bunch of people. They actually believed that Trump would bring their coal jobs back and give them better (even free) healthcare. Trumpcare will fuck them really hard. Sad...

Hello stupid.

Tell me.....

We spend almost 9,000 per person per year.

How is that supposed to work.

They didn't address it with Obamacare and it's not going to be addressed here.

The only way around that is single payer or Medicare for all. You in for that?

Final word: eliminating the middleman in insurance could save the USA about $600 billion on current care. (About 5% of GDP)

O screwed the country hard for eight years. Its going to take decades to undo his atrocities.

If 14 million lose coverage its going to get very ugly out there. And this isn't just Obamas fault.

Nice Fairy tale.

Government run healthcare does not interest me.

No surprise there.

Will President Trump step up and protect his supporters?

The House Republican effort to overhaul the Affordable Care Act could hit many rural areas particularly hard, according to a new analysis, sharply increasing the cost for some residents buying their own insurance. ...

Of the 100 counties where a 62-year-old making three times the federal poverty level—generally around $36,000—would see the biggest jump in annual costs for a plan under the Republican blueprint, 97 were rural. “It is disproportionately affecting the rural,” said Dianna Welch, an actuary at Oliver Wyman.

The dynamic may present a political challenge for Republicans, because many rural regions strongly supported President Donald Trump. ...

Well hell who cares--they voted for him, let them pay for it.

The fact is that any middle class 62 year old on Obama care used to be able to buy a good used car with what he is now responsible for in the Obamacare deductible insurance scam. Obamacare is freaking imploding and all we see is propaganda from democrats who never even read the freaking bill before they voted for it.

It's imploding so we have to throw people overboard to help them! :spinner:
You passed this law seven years ago to help them. WTF happened?

As you can see the public wants it. That's what happened. Now you are trying to take it away saying it's for their own good.

There is hardly a single Trump supporter who is worried about it. In fact if you will brush the dust off of your seldom used brain cells, you might remember that during the campaign, Trump said he would repeal Obamacare altogether. Those people knew it meant them and they voted for him still. There are a lot of fine reasons for that but just as we did before Obama-the-Idiot took over, we will buy our own healthcare thank you very much.

That's it exactly. The GOP's plan is not really about healthcare access. Rather, Obamacare was a backdoor to Medicaid for all. If you wanted to make sure the 62 yr old single white male making 36K had access to something other than a partially subsidized Obamacare silver plan, you had two choices: increase the subsidy or expand Medicaid/medicare more.

The gop's plan is to kill moving to single payer while spending less to pay for affluent tax cuts, while at the same time attempting to sell America on this being an improvement.

The gop's option was to leave the Medicaid expansion intact and encourage states that didn't expand to do so, and at the same time increase the amount of money going to obamacare supplements,. and do away with govt approved plans and just replace it all with a subsidy/tax credit to buy insurance, but that would have to be probably two or three times what the gop's plan will offer. But obviously that was never a politically acceptable option for the gop/

He said a lot of things...it's funny that you want people to accept their prices going through the roof using the excuse that Trump said it before so they have to like anything and any method.

That's IT? That is your refutation exercise?
You telling me that 10 million illegals weren't part of Obama's claim regarding "46 million uninsured"?

Actually, the census data include noncitizens. The Census Bureau breaks out that information and reports that 9.7 million of the uninsured are noncitizens. So the number of Americans without insurance is actually closer to 36 million.
Number of those without health insurance about 46 million
WAY off by 30% but oh well who cares about a little 30% mistake!

BUT WAIT!!! Didn't I also point out 14 million included were eligible for Medicaid BEFORE ACA???
And according to recent research by The Heritage Foundation, out of that 9.25 million, “the vast majority of the increase was the result of 8.99 million individuals being added to the Medicaid rolls.” In other words, over 97 percent of last year’s newly insured Americans were from Medicaid expansion.
Ninety-seven percent of Obamacare’s “newly insured” are from Medicaid expansion - Hot Air
So now 24 million from 46 million leaves 22 million... OK...
So tell me about the 5 million Veterans covered under the VA???
Leaves 17 million! So of those 17 million how many really wanted and needed health insurance especially after they are under 34 years old. Their employers offer
health insurance and they don't want the deductions. So now you idiots were forcing them to buy? How...f...king UNAMERICAN!!!

I just looked at the CBO scoring. I am a little sick to my stomach. Over the ten year period between 2017-2026 the CBO estimates a CUT in Medicaid spending of 880 BILLION DOLLARS. Over that same time period, mostly due to the elimination of that 4.7% surcharge on investment income for those with incomes in excess of $250,000 a year, revenues will decline by 880 BILLION DOLLARS.

WTF

Medicaid, BY DEFINITION, is for the POOR. And not just income, but assets too. Medicaid is MEANS TESTED. So, this repeal takes money away from individuals with little to no income and little to no assets and BESTOWS it to those making more than a quarter million dollars a year.

You will be judged by how you treat the least among you.
