Trump Reportedly Wants to Bring Back Firing Squads & Air Executions on TV If Re-Elected, +other executions possibly including by guillotine

Plenty of white guys on death row, and the current DP opponents tend to focus more on blacks than whites as a matter of principle.

Also blacks commit crimes worthy of the death penalty at a rate higher than whites, so when comparing the numbers you have to go with DP crimes like murders to get the proper comparison, and eliminate crimes with no possible DP implications that whites seem to do more.
There are certainly people in this world who deserve to die. Not sure any human is qualified to make that judgement. As it is the death penalty is all far too arbitrary and stinks of racial and economic bias. In a more perfect world the government would absolutely not have the power of life and death over it's citizens. I like that idea way better than killing people who killed people as a public spectacle for the entertainment industry to make more money.

But you don't have any problem with a government having Death Panels to determine who will get an operation and who will get pain pills and die.

And you don't have a problem with condemning unborn babies to death.

Crime always has an economic bias, which filters down to a racial discrepancy due to current social realities, not bias.

When you make the worst that can happen to someone that already doesn't care life in confinement, then you deny people who desire the ultimate punishment for certain crimes justice for the loss of their loved ones.

Until no one wants the DP, it has to remain a part of the criminal justice system.

That's vengeance by another name. Prison life sucks for everyone but the rules are simple and easy to understand. Don't mistake an institutionalized convict for someone that doesn't mind being in jail.

All justice has a component of vengeance in it, because that's what people who are wronged want in part.

Don't try to imprint your horror at the concept of being locked up for life on someone who doesn't give a rats ass about it. After all in DP cases they managed to not give a rats ass about someone's life, or the lives of those impacted by the murder.

Never mind the dubious deterrent value of the death penalty. Getting through the legal battles to get brutal public execution approved would take longer than Trump has left to live.
One non dubious deterrent is you are dead and can’t harm any further.
Also, justice does and has Always had an element of vengeance to it and that is In Fact just.(ice)

The thing with "life without parole" is it doesn't include pardoning in the restriction.

So a governor at the State level or a President at the federal level can let the asshole go even if they have centuries left on their sentence.

The death penalty is held up as a deterrent to other would be murderers but there's no way of knowing if it keeps anyone from pulling the trigger. That leaves only the vengeance factor which is present in every hasty rush to judgement you ever heard of.

Really dont worry myself over if it stops the next one. It was effective in ending this one.

The death penalty deters the one receiving it from re-offending.
