Trump made this statement on a TV show that aired in 1994 and I was curious to know what it meant

I was watching an episode of Fresh Prince last night and the episode featured Donald Trump as someone looking to buy a house. When the daughter sees Trump she screams....."Thank you for ruining my life" when she thought he was about to purchase their home. Then Trump responds with

"Everyone is always blaming me for everything"

Anyone know what he was being blamed for during that time in the NYC area?

Probably that to some idiots being a real estate developer was seen as a bad thing. You know, buying up lousy properties and turning the area into something far nicer while employing perhaps hundreds of workers jobs during the transitions and subsequently jobs for folks working in the hotels, restaurants, and other retail establishments that followed.

Primarily though that he had the gall to make money as a result of his ventures. What a bad guy, huh?

I guess only someone living in nyc in 1994 would know

Trump was famous before The Apprentice? How?
He was a famous Zamboni racer decades before The Apprentice.

Here's an old pic of him after he won a Zamboni race in Central Park. He had a excellent time AND came in way under budget. That was something unheard of before.

That's why everyone knew who he was back in the 80s.
