The idea that we need a media in this country in order to make sure that democracy functions well is pretty valid. The argument is that an independent media will make sure that the politicians are not doing anything dishonest and keep the people informed is essential for people making the BEST choice in the laws they want the government to pass. That seems plausable but wouldn't a media that purposely lies to the people be just as disastrous for democracy. They would simply misinform the people and the people would make their decisions based on the lies that they have been told to them by the media. It would just seem like we would have the same affect as a media that wasn't independent and free since in both scenarios the people will be misinformed and unable to make the best decision possible.

The other thing to consider is the fact that most of the 'liberal' media in this country has the highest concentration of registered democrats than in any other organization. How can we assume that the media is independent when people in the same party might conspire to protect each other and protect people in power who are of the same political party. I kind of wonder how independent the media really is when we can have a democratic president, democratic congress, and a democratic media. It would definately explain why so much of democratic scandals are underreported.

I always wondered how people could fall for yellow journalism. But seeing how so many have fallen for Faux, Brietphart, WND, Daily Caller...ect I wonder no more.

At the present time, the President is unable to back up his allegations that the media is lying about him, while the media is able to consistently show that the President is a prolific serial liar. If he would stop telling so many outrageous lies the media would not have to report on his dishonesty so much. The option is to just allow him to lie endlessly with no repercussions or reporting to the public about their lying President.

Trump not only lies consistently, he repeats some lies at every opportunity (e.g. the inauguration crowd size). Pathological.

Correction.
Trump is at war with the elitist DC establishment.
And they are pissed.

If you have not seen trump lies it is because you have blinders on or are just brainwashed beyond repair. How about him saying no one from his campaign communicated with the Russians during his campaign.

But they fell down on the job. They knew about Trump's Russian connections before the election, and deliberately turfed the story, so as not to hurt Trump's election chances. Of course, they had no problem hurting Clinton's chances by parroting every bit of Republican/Russian fake news spin.

Given the media favored one candidate, Trump, with more bias than any ever seen before, then yes, there clearly is a media problem. Most of the media is owned by corporate conservatives, so most of the media has a very flagrant conservative bias.

It's a little cheap to claim Trump won because of the media. (Besides isn't Trump spending all his time spitting about how the media did everything it could to stop him?) Do not the American people read but one paper year round and imagine the paper is always right?:cuckoo: there were papers warning about Trump in America and outside America. In many countries he was never taken seriously.

Did you feel the same way about Barry's serial lies?

First, pointing out that someone else did something wrong is not a valid defense. You are trying to say that because you think Obama was a serial liar, it is OK for Trump to be one.
Second, there is no comparison between the two. Trump lies every day. His lying has completely taken over his Presidency. It has come to define his Presidency.
