Trump is as vulnerable as Hillary to smear tactics

Yup, I agree with this.

The point made is that Kasich would slaughtered Hillary while Sanders would have slaughtered Donnie on this alone.

The question: will either come out ahead on a smear campaign.

Why ‘Hillary Is Even Worse’ Doesn’t Cut It, by Charles Murray, National Review

He is wrong. Three points.

1. When Hillary has lied on specific limited issues, like her flip flop on gay marriage, she is seriously trying to mislead the public and get their support though lies.

When Trump blusters about the New York Jets, he is not seriously trying to achieve political goals though lying and deceit.

2. No liberal is going to try to engage the republican candidate in serious debate. The campaign will be nothing but smears and lies. That was a given long ago. Murray and his Establishmentarians have been unable to counter this. Trump is the answer.

3. The belief of Trump as unable to learn is based on the acceptance of his public persona as the real man. The is something that Charles and his ilk should not fall for.

Correll's analysis is merely a mistaken misperception on Hillary and LGBT marriage.

Trump started the smears, Correll, so he is going to have to live with result.

No has said Trump can't learn except you. The point is that he won't learn.

From YOUR linked article and OP.

" as David Brooks wrote a few months ago. Donald Trump is epically unprepared to be president. He has no realistic policies, no advisers, no capacity to learn. His vast narcissism makes him a closed fortress. He doesn’t know what he doesn’t know and he’s uninterested in finding out. He insults the office Abraham Lincoln once occupied by running for it with less preparation than most of us would undertake to buy a sofa. . . . He is a childish man running for a job that requires maturity. He is an insecure boasting little boy whose desires were somehow arrested at age 12.

Since Brooks wrote those words, Trump has become the presumptive Republican nominee, and he now does have advisors. He has had ten additional weeks to demonstrate his capacity to learn; to show that he is taking national policy more seriously than buying a sofa; to persuade us that underneath the showman exterior is presidential seriousness. My view is that he has not and cannot. What you see is what you get."

Your other two points are just as incorrect as that one.

In my opinion, trump has such a negative image it would be pointless to suggest a smear campaign would make any difference.
Anyone who would vote for trump is not going to give a * about anything the opposition could say, since they have hardly held back, even in his own party.

There is some truth to that.

THe lefties have been playing the same tune for so long and so much that they CAN'T up the volume.

God Forbid if we ever did/do have a real "Hitler" come along.

No one will pay any mind, because it would sound like the last 20 false alarms.

Fair point, although I'm sure Trump is as close to Hitler as someone could get without being a mass murderer/psycho.
Although many people seem to like that about him. There is a large amount of moderates that support him too. Even I support him, and I'm not a right wing loony racist.

It is quite odd that you view Trump as "close to Hitler" AND state that you support him.

Trump is the King of flip flops. First on abortion, then he says threat to deport Hispanics was a "suggestion." He is a Demagogue who will say whatever he thinks the crowd wants.

All campaign promises are at best a Statements of Intent.

Pointing out that fact at this time is a meeley mouthed or diplomatic reaching out to his defeated rivals and their supporters.

Depending on how you want to spin it.

Considering the Hysteria about Trump in the media, calling HIM a demagogue is ironic.

Has he been calling his opponents Hitlers?

Are his supporters rioting out side of Hillary events, seriously trying to use violence and fear of violence to silence their enemies?

Correll, your candidate lies all the time. He is immoral, as are you.

We will see what the campaign brings.

And if elected, both McConnell and Ryan say Trump is not doing anything they don't agree with.

Mmm, yeah. Lets see if they will go on record as being against bringing back manufacturing jobs.

Especially once Trump starts pointing of the specific flaws and/or results of each specific trade agreement.

2016: The election where nobody is voting for anyone, only against.

Because Trump's policies of deporting illegals and bringing back jobs is so crazy?

LOL!
deporting illegal aliens won't bring back jobs because THE WORKERS ARE OUTSIDE THE US, and McConnell isn't bringing up any bills rolling back trade.

Deporting illegals will reduce supply of labor which will increase price, ie wages.

And we shall see how brave McConnell is when Trump starts using his negotiation skills to point out the Rust Belt that McConnell personally is the one holding up "Trade Reform".
