Trump has ordered the largest single-year increase in army recruitment targets

Dodge, duck, dip, dive....and dodge.
If you would stop deflecting I wouldn't have to keep you on topic!

The topic is people all of a sudden caring about things because someone they don't like is in office.

It's the topic of every "Trump sucks, fuh fuh fuh" thread, or threads that devolve into that.
I see Trump as a threat to foreign and domestic tranquility more than any president in the last 50 years. Would you have us ignore the underpinnings of madness that hangs like an ominous cloud over him? Even the republicans are watching with raised eyebrows as Trump stumbles awkwardly through his presidency...burning bridges and breaking china along the way.

What you see and reality are obviously two different things. The greatest threat is the attempt by progressives and government types to throw out the legitimate results of a an election by any means nessasary.

The 2nd greatest threat is progressives desire to collate all power at the federal level and in particular in the executive bureaucracy.
Will you be saying that after November?

I've been saying the 2nd for years.

The 1st has been in progress since November 2016.

Methinks you are obsessed with the Clintons who are no longer a political threat. You are wasting energy on hatred carried over from the past. When you want to join us in discussing current events...we will be here.

your lack of an actual answer is noted and ridiculed.
Hard hitting logic is often subject to ridicule by the person targeted by that logic. But no one is laughing with them. Laughing alone to shield what's left of your wounded pride is so sad...so sad.

keep dodging there you lefty cuck.
I'm dodging your deflections. Thats good for everyone who likes continuity.

No, you just don't like getting pointed out as a partisan twat.
Oh. Is that what you are doing? What a silly thing to do.

Considering we have a volunteer military, and the concept of enlistment and commitment of time have been around for a long time, though doth protest too much, and too weakly.

Plenty of people will sign up if given the proper incentives.

And the Military is still one of the best ways to claw your way out of poverty.

Evidently my "weak" premise is based on strong evidence. Looks like the millennials are't taking the bait according to this very op. The technical savvy necessary to operate today's complex military equipment is severely lacking in the general American populace. And, the infantry is becoming obsolete. But even if the enticement of education and other benefits are enough of an incentive for poor guys to sign up. Fewer are willing to join up and serve under a draft dodging president. The poor have SOME semblance of self respect too,

They also aren't getting into jobs that involve physical labor, so there is that regardless of the lure of a military career.

Infantry will always be needed, because a missile cannot hold ground.

And how did Trump "dodge" the draft?
Through his alleged Planters Faciitis, if memory serves me....

I always considered draft dodging to be either ignoring a draft summons or actively running from one.

I guess the definition gets extended based on how much a person hates the person in question.

Marty, you still see liberals accuse Bush of dodging by enlisting in the reserves.
Which, btw was the only way to enlist as an officer back then if you didn't go to one of the academies.
It's what John Kerry did.
No...there was ROTC and OCS.

I don't know and i don't care. Trump is president now......lets focus on him. The millenials might not remember Clinton but they sure know Trump.

The guy on the right.

The guy on the left? Not so much.

So i guess bill Clinton is less than Muller as well?
Bill who? The president's name is Donald.

Nice amnesia you got there.

I still remember how Dems used to mock Bob Dole for his war injuries.
You remember that, huh? Where and when and who mocked Bob Dole for his war injuries?

That's not true, you could enlist and go to OCS or have a bachelor's degree and enlist.

I am aware of my own biases, unlike people like you.

The aforementioned argument is soaked with so much fiscal envy that it hardly merits a response.

I feel sorry for ya JQ, you spend your time worried about and blaming the rich, yet you have apparently failed to pick up on /why/ they're rich and use that knowledge to your advantage so that you too could make a difference in the world. Bummer, guess you'll have to stick to worthlessly bitching about the rich on the forums.
The rich IMHO are people commanding 250 k incomes or more per year. Their kids go to college to learn how to screw over labor while the children of laborers, skilled or not, are compelled to take the incentive bait and risk their lives to have a better life. The millennials aren't having that...they are getting smarter.
I guess the Flynn Effect really does exist.

The whole campaign was about how old and out of touch he was. Norm McDonald (a dem back then) made it clear by his portrayal of him, pen always in hand.

I am merely echoing an opinion help by millions, probably the majority, of the American people. When are you going to stop drinking the koolaid?

The following are the age limits for enlisting in our various branches of service:

How Old Can You Be When Enlisting?

Any takers? Perhaps the children and grandchildren of politicians who push war and the voters who vote for them? Even the rich folks?

Age isn't the thing that limits most people from enlisting. Not having a good enough education, not scoring high enough on the ASVAB, physical disqualifications, or too many civil convictions.

Two of the biggest reasons for being disqualified when I was in recruiting from 1999 to 2002 was either flat feet or having asthma.

Only about 30 percent of the population in the US that is age eligible to serve are actually qualified for service.

Reality? When have you alt right fools ever considered reality as is. Some how you manage to bend and twist reality to fit your nefarious agendas; then you squeal in protest when rational folks won't play your alt reality games..

If the U.S. Dept of education wasn't corrupted by left wing demagogues and the Mainstream Media cooperated with recruitment it would be easy to enlist members of the Military. How many kids are aware that a couple of years in the Military would turn their pop-culture video game lives around and would offer them an enlistment bonus and the freaking G.I. bill? Marines are different. They get to use the term "semper fi" and belong to a proud fraternity for the rest of their lives.

Have you ever worked in recruiting for the military? I did, from 1999 until May of 2002 when I retired, and it's not the things you are trying to say it is that makes recruiting hard, it's the qualifications required to join that are hard.

Of all the people that are age eligible to join, only 3 in 10, or 30 percent are actually capable of passing the ASVAB, physical and other requirements, which is why the military has lowered it's standards to allow more people to come in.

When I was in, 22 percent for men, and 25 percent body fat for women was considered disqualifying and could get you separated. Now? Because there is such a weight problem in this country, they have raised the body fat percentages for entry in the military to 30 percent for women. 30 percent is considered obese by medical professionals.

And then, there is the fact that this country is still involved in active war zones, which kinda puts a damper on recruiting, as well as the fact that the job market is pretty good right now. When unemployment is below 5 percent, it is VERY hard to find people to join.

I don't think that the military is going to be able to meet Trump's recruiting demands, especially in these times.

The factors for rejection, except for physical disqualifications, paint a pretty frightening picture, particularly of our educational system and the failure of adults to encourage the kids to get a good education. But you were dealing with the folks who actually indicated an interest in serving; those who walked through your door and submitted to testing.
The purpose of my post was to point out that our "best," our "brightest," and those who have money and political connections have the same opportunity up through a certain age to present themselves to a recruiter, but most seem to avoid doing so, including those who advocate, and whose relatives advocate fighting more conflicts that don't seem to have much to do with the nation's defense. There seem to be very few Pat Tillman's in our midst.

My late aunt, career USAF, warned me many years ago that if we ever switched to an all volunteer army, we would run the risk of having a military easily put to the use of a demagogue. She was so right, and it's been scary for decades.

So basically two sentences to say "you are wrong"

Nice attempt at bloviating, but it doesn't work.

Heh go ahead millennial's throw your tantrum and listen to your idiot masters who tell you that /we/ businesses "owe" you a "fair" living. Go for it! Apparently your teachers forgot to tell you OWS twats that there are hundreds of countries with folks that'd be perfectly happy to take even lower paychecks from us, and in fact they have been taking them since your socialist/communist leadership gained power in the US. The more socialist you take America, the more of us business folk will leave in order to protect our businesses from being stolen by a vile government system (and the thieving assholes that run it.)
