So much for the panty wetting enthusiasm by those anxious for another distraction and further damage to our intelligence agencies, ally relationships, sources/ methods and discrediting of the Mueller investigation. Good!

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Friday delayed his own order to declassify and release documents from the FBI's Russia investigation, saying the Justice Department and U.S. allies have raised security concerns about their disclosure.

The announcement, in a pair of tweets, represented a highly unusual walk-back for a president who has pressed for the release of classified information that he believes will expose "really bad things" at the FBI and discredit special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign.

Good to know you view the truth as a “distraction.”

You guys complain when he says hes going to release them, then you complain when he says he isnt. I have a sneaky suspicion that you people are going to complain no matter what he does.

Oh I'm not complaining at all. These documents have no business in the general US public's hands, OR in the hands of our enemies who would most certainly use them against us and our allies.

So you're saying you agree with Trump?

How could you possibly know that when you have no idea what they say? Methinks if these documents threatened to expose Trump or his comrades you’d be all for it and any attempts on Trump’s part to stop it you’d dub obstruction of justice.

In other words, the IG should only release what make me look good.

I don't think it has a thing to do with his allies. I think someone notified Trump of the legal implications of selectively releasing only 21 of 412 pages of the FISA application while pushing a narrative that the FBI didn't disclose the political motivation of the Steele Dossier.

While keeping the vast majority of the FISA application where the FBI does disclose the political motivations of the Steele Dossier secret.

In other words, the IG should only release what make me look good.

It opened Trump up personally to all sorts of Obstruction of Justice implications.

Its one thing to have someone like Nunes try this tactic of selective declassification in the debunked 'Nunes Memo'. Nunes isn't the subject of the investigation. Nor is the House Intel committee an organization with prosecutorial powers. So 'Obstruction of Justice' for a House Intel committee investigation is a very difficult thing to do.

But for Trump to *directly* and *personally* try the Nunes narrative through selective declassification to try and discredit an active criminal investigation? Oh, that's a different animal all together.

And without a cut out man like Nunes to take the fall for him, all the Obstruction of Justice implications falls squarely at Trump's feet personally.

Which is why Trump just blinked.

Yeah, I immediately thought this was a terrible idea for Trump.

30 members of congress (half of them republicans) have already seen the unredacted full 412 pages of the FBI's FISA warrant. And....nothing. There's no smoking gun. The FBI disclosed the political motive for the Steele Dossier in the full FISA warrant.

Trump is forwarding a fraudulent narrative (that the FBI didn't disclose the political motive of the Steele Dossier) that Trump *knows* that full disclosure of the FISA warrant doesn't support. Which is why Trump has kept secret the vast majority of the FISA warrant where the FBI discloses the political motives of the Steele Dossier.

There's zero prosecutorial application for either his declassifications or his narrative. Even if the portions of the FISA application where the FBI discloses the political motives of the Steele Dossier remain classified.....they still *exist*. And they exonerate anyone in the FBI from any charges. And 30 members of Congress have already seen these passages. So its not like Trump can try and hide them.

These declassifications is solely to try and discredit an active criminal investigation by forwarding a narrative that Trump knows is false. And with all the Obstruction of Justice implications landing squarely at Trump's feet, as he has no one like Nunes to take the fall for him.

Someone apparently made Trump aware of this.

The Don has asked the IG to inspect the documents on "an expedited basis."

That means like now.

BTW, England and Australia will just have to be exposed. Better to know the truth than believe the lie.

Trump tweeted Friday that he had heard concerns from both the Justice Department and “key Allies” about his instruction. Therefore, he said, he’d asked the inspector general “to review these documents on an expedited basis.” The exact meaning of his tweets isn’t clear, but they appear to represent a near-total walkback of his earlier announcement.

Trump just walked back his controversial order to declassify Russia investigation information

Title is a lie. They will still be declassified but its a more narrow focus now...OK lets do it...I want to see the FISA documents for sure..want to see what the liars got to use to start the witch hunt...Sucks to see President Trump narrowing the focus I wanted it all out there....obviously people close to scum in the DOJ asked him to not declassify some BUT he can hand it over their head they either resign or he releases it all.
