Donald Trump has ordered the military to be on alert over a US-bound migrant caravan as he declared a national emergency.

Referring to the caravan from Honduras, the president tweeted: "Sadly, it looks like Mexico's Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States.

"I have alerted Border patrol and Military that this is a National Emergency."

He added that the US would begin "cutting off, or substantially reducing aid" to three Central American countries.

Everyone who engages in crimes against humanity should be charged and jailed or receive the death penalty. This is no national emergency and the federal agencies involved know nothing about it. It is up to Congress to do that not Trump.

Actually as a European, I am sure most of Europe right now wishes our leaders had the guts to do the same. For sure the eastern European countries are taking a tough stand, much to Merkel's consternation. There is a massive swing to the right in Europe and Trmp gets it whilst our politicans continue to do whats been done, ignoring their cities imploding on their watch.
