President Trump reportedly considered firing Chief of Staff John Kelly earlier this month and fulfilling the duties himself rather than naming a replacement.

NBC News reported Thursday that Trump suggested to others outside the White House that he would leave the chief of staff position open. He would then receive direct reports from a handful of top aides, in a set-up that would resemble how he operated the Trump Organization.

Well, there's another scary thought. Personally, I think Kelly's an asshole - but at least he seems to be a reasonably sane asshole.

Trump has been his own Chief of staff for long long time! That's how he runs things. There's a boss and there's a first niqqer. Trump in the board room is Jimmy Hoffa on a picket line. Do it now and do it right or you are fired!

Dunning-kruger effect.

Anyway, I think if Trump doesn't have a Chief of Staff then he's just going to schedule himself more 'executive' time and play golf.
