Obama spoke for the globalist dems when he said many times that manufacturing jobs are gone:

Obama Responds To Questions About Carrier: Some Jobs "Are Just Not Coming Back"
But Obama said manufacturing jobs wouldn't come back...

Trump is at least trying to bring jobs back to the U.S., including protecting workers from unfair tariffs
10 Companies That Are Bringing Jobs Back to America
American companies bring jobs back to the U.S., and Democrats smirk
Apple Is Paying $38 Billion to Bring Cash Back to the U.S.

The MSM, the Left, and the globalists, keep hammering Trump on peripheral issues. In 2018 and 2020 they will be as surprised as in 2016 when the populists win again. The reason will be that the economy requires that Trump stay the course on bringing jobs back. It took time to move 12,000 factories overseas, it will take time to bring some of them back. People vote their pocketbooks, period, it really is the economy....stupid.

Hillary would have signed TPP which would have cost us more...........

And she wouldn't have went toe to toe with trade abuses against our country as Trump has done.

Which is exactly why they lost traditional states in the election.............The Trade Unions turned Red for Trump...........and the rest is history.......

So your first article from Jan 17, 2017, what's the progress?

Which is exactly why they lost traditional states in the election.............The Trade Unions turned Red for Trump...........and the rest is history.......

She lost there because she didn’t campaign there.

While they do recognize some disparities in NAFTA, they support the multi-national agreement. As we will see in the not-too-distant future, needlessly picking fights with our allies is stupid.

I support laissez-faire economics, but you cannot simply allow other nations to rob you and your industries with unfair tactics and not respond. What message does that send them? Steal our jobs and smack us around again because we like it?

America has to fight back and Trump has. If he puts tariffs on automobiles coming from Canada, it will bring many high paying jobs back, and Canada will quickly agree to a bilateral deal. All the chest sticking out antics will quickly be replaced with reality.

It's sad Canada should have listened to me...

So she lost the states because she thought they were in the bag............political blunder and not Russia Russia Russia......

I remember the Unions jumping ship and arguing over the TPP..........some ready to endorse Trump over it.........

She wasn't watching now was she........

In regards to our Trade Disputes.......we can both show opposing opinions on it all day long.

Ford is doubling it's production of it's most popular models.....in Mexico.

That’s true. The confirmed Russian interference did not prevent her from campaigning in those states.

Russia’s interference in the election, criminal hacking that Trump’s team was well aware of, is well documented.

I remember the Unions jumping ship and arguing over the TPP..........some ready to endorse Trump over it.........

In this interconnected age, voluntarily leaving the markets of your trading partners is dumb. Trump sold them BS; they bought it. As did you.

So I keep hearing all these arguments, "oh all those people are being replaced by robots" as the company moves its manufacturing to Mexico. What? No robots in Mexico?

They can build the cars anywhere, so, if other countries make it difficult for the source being from America, to in effect, destroy your economy and jobs, America will return the favor of cars made in Canada or Europe. This whole global argument is bunk, because it's not as if there is some special skillset available in Canada or Mexico that isn't available in America.

That is a matter of opinion..............and the abuses of Trade have been documented repeatedly.............

The selling of the MAGICAL FREE TRADE is a LIE.........it's never been free and other countries have abused the system and rigged it against us.........

The opinion to do nothing in response to require FAIR TRADE is dumb..........The Chamber of Commerce sold them BS, they bought it. As did you.

Tit for tat...........your dumb argument is totally useless.......doing nothing is useless........doing too much can damage......The way it's always been.

Ford is doubling it's production of it's most popular models.....in Mexico.
And...............have tariffs been issued on auto's yet........Last I heard it isn't.......

Our biggest Trade to Mexico.....well large Trade is auto parts..........We ship in the parts needed to build the cars and trucks there......they get assembled........and shipped back to us..............buying the same parts in a new vehicle assembled in Mexico.........

Look for the label assembled in Mexico......our jobs..........FLUSH.

Except that Trump isn’t bringing jobs back. Off-shoring is up since Trump was elected.

Number of jobs lost to foreign competition up since Trump’s election: report

The entire point of the thread is that the dem/globalists (and establishment GOP) are very happy supporting moving jobs overseas and pocketing K-Street cash. Saying that the US economy is a "service economy". Like they get paid for fellatio. Trump OTOH is at least trying to bring good paying jobs back to the US, including making sure that tariffs are fair. Trump deserves credit and support for opposing the globalists.

Competition=lower prices.
No competition=higher prices.

Erecting barriers to keep completion out means higher prices. Oldest law in economics.

Globalization has little to do with it in the micro. In the macro where you not only have to worry about economics but politics, national influence, etc…. allowing your international competitions to supplant your influence in one arena gives them a foothold in the others.

Well, we will see where the CPI is down the road. The trend is not promising.

It’s up 0.4% over the last 2 months.

I believe in re trade, even globalization with sovereign nations. I don't believe in a Race to the Bottom, where it is only about cheap labor and not innovation, best practices and ingenuity. Businesses have become lazy and allowed cheap labour in China to pervert trade and capitalism. No more!

ok.

Don’t blame me…the laws of economics do not change despite what Trump tells you.

Insulting your allies does nothing to make them more malleable in a negotiation. In fact, it makes them less agreeable. Why you guys cheer whenever the pervert does it is a mystery.
