Trump Picks David Shulkin to Run VA

President-elect Donald Trump announced that Dr. David Shulkin will run the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Shulkin, the VA’s current undersecretary for health, was previously the chief executive for several private hospital systems, including the Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey.

Trump transition officials indicated that the administration plans to reform the VA by giving private health care providers, who often treat patients more quickly than the VA, a greater role in treating America’s veterans.

Well lets hope this guy runs the VA better than the past morons who have done a terrible job

He's an Obama appointee, which isn't good.

"Dr. David Shulkin, MD is the current Under Secretary of Health for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He was nominated by President Obama on March 18, 2015 to serve as the Undersecretary of Health and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in June 2015. The Undersecretary of health is the chief executive of the nations largest integrated health care system. On January 11, 2017, it was announced that President-elect Donald Trump had nominated Shulkin to serve as United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs."

In spite of keeping him the same there can be a difference he will now have to follow orders from a NEW LEADER rather than an authoritarian prick. So all we can do now is keep his feet to the fire and keep our eyes on the actions they all take.

It means they wont abolish veterans healthcare, nazis know that denying healthcare to poor people, criminals, the mentally ill, etc is easy, denying it to veterans is much more difficult and takes a lot more time and propaganda

Yeah if they can't provide an appointment within 30 days otherwise you always seem to get an appointment almost exactly 30 days out and I have to drive 85 miles one way to get to my nearest VA hospital.
