On Sunday evening, Zarif posted a picture on Twitter of his meeting with the French president and the foreign minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, reportedly in the office of the Biarritz mayor, across the road from a building where G7 leaders had been meeting. The Iranian foreign minister said he had also provided a briefing for British and German officials.

And just before Trump got to there he threatened another round of Embargoes on France. What does Rump expect? If he does get reelected, I suspect that it's going to be the G-7 with Russia replacing the United States.

No, there are many ways to force a return to the negotiating table but just torpedoing an existing deal is not one of them. It's like throwing the chess board in the air when you are losing.

Never said Iran was part of the G7, just said that Macron had invited them over while the G7 was going on. And, apparently, it was to talk about boycotts and keeping the nuclear agreement. I'm guessing Macron was also hoping he could get Trump to talk with them.

And yeah, the WH didn't know, and they were blindsided according to Reuters and what some staffers said.
