What? We need a first grade primer for you? Government is often not accountable and Trump promised we would see more of it. How badly you must want America to fail.

Except according to the story you linked, nobody is being held "accountable" except U.S. Taxpayers since it's only talking about the EPA paying for $1.2 billion in damages (guess where they get the money to do that?), this is simply an exercise in removing more money from every tax payers pocket so it can be given to victims of the EPA's incompetence.
Holding the EPA "accountable" would entail firing ALL those responsible and/or prosecuting them along with perhaps a healthy dose of EPA budget cuts for upcoming years.
Lets get a few things straight...
The EPA didn't cause the pollution... That was old private business and a lack of regulation. The mine in question closed in 1923.
So mess was called on to be cleaned...
The EPA asked for Superfund support and were rejected locally... Got that EPA's first recommendation was rejected...
The Contractor hired by the EPA made the mistake. The EPA failed to notify for 24 hours, that was wrong.
The EPA has taken responsibility for the incident, so Trump is just saying yes to something that they have already admitted responsibility for...
So before you lads go on your anti government rant it was a private mine who created the pollution and a private contractor who created the spill and the EPA took responsibility...
