True:under Obama oil production up; BUT....

DUH... there is FINITE amount of LAND period but not a FINITE amount of imagination!
Ever hear of FRACKING 40 years as often as we hear now?
Ever hear of " Abiotic Oil"
" Addressing the theory in circulation that oil is not solely of organic origin, but that there may be another mode of origin as well from deeper in the crust, involving magma.
Abiotic Oil -- Reserves Replenished by Process in Earth's Mantle?

You really need to unshackle yourself from the biased MSM. Your sources of information seems lacking in imagination.
You need to think and not let others think for you ...i.e. The Life of Julia — Barack Obama
Do you think civilization will grow and thrive if we have to depend on people that like Obama think THEY know better then you?
I have NO idea what you do for a living... BUT ONE thing I would do is have RESPECT for your vocation's knowledge base, i.e. I assume YOU know when it comes to your work YOU
know what you are doing. I respect and would believe you if you told me something that related to your vocation.

SO I am NOT in the OIL business. As my username "healthmyths" indicates I DO KNOW about health care and specifically Medicare.

AND with that knowledge I know what Obama has spewed about health care is more often wrong then right.
So when ever I read where people are taking Obama at face value I shudder!

Natural gas production is so high its price has been rock bottom for ages.

Yep supply and demand actually works for natural gas since it is difficult to export.

The oil companies hold hundreds of leases on public land that they're not using.

They can't get the permits.
Pure CON$ervoFascist Brotherhood BULLSHIT!

The oil monopoly refuses to use the permits that have already been approved.

Some of the biggest discoveries have occurred on private land in deep shale formations in Texas and North Dakota, and production on federal land is beginning to boom, too. The real issue, which industry’s allies never mention, is whether the oil companies are fully exploiting the federal resources they already control. Mr. Bingaman notes that 7,000 approved onshore drilling permits have been sitting unused by the companies that own them, and that millions of acres under lease in the gulf remain unexplored.

Your post reads as if you couldn't figure out what I said. Either that or you responded to someone else's post in the wrong spot.

Check your work.

No you can't figure it out. Reality eludes you.

You lease a tract of land intending to build a house. Can you just start construction any time you feel like it? Of course not. At the basic necessity you need a building permit. In order to get the building permit, you need reports and permits from any number of governmental agencies. To get a building permit, you have to submit an environmental impact report that will give you a permit to apply for the building permit. That's one, there are dozens of permits necessary before you get a building permit.

We aren't talking about building a house, but drilling for oil. They have the lease, but they also have to get permits to explore to see if there is oil there before they can hope to start drilling. On private land, all they need is permission to explore.

Anyone who has ever opened a business of any kind knows how strangling red tape is. The federal government just strangles a bit more on its own land.

There's an unprecedented boom in oil production in the Dakotas; natural gas is so abundant its low price is closing down coal mining operations through competition - despite the myths that Obama is causing that.

You people sound like idiots trying to manufacture some harebrained 'yeah but' story to downplay the simple fact that energy production in this country under Obama has not gone in the way you people constructed your myth about what you thought would happen.

FACT: In 3 years Bush approved 3 times as many leases as Obama has in 3 years approved on Federal Lands.
If Obama had kept up with private land production we would NOT have average gas price of $3.76 when on Jan 2009 average price of gallon gas was $1.84.
BECAUSE of supply would be a lot greater then it is today!

GDP was -6% and we were losing 800,000 jobs a month when gas was 1.84. Want to go back to that?

Are people not buying gas at 4 bucks a gallon? Why would the oil companies and gasoline producers want to flood the market and drive prices down to a 1.84 when they can sell it for 4 bucks?

Do you know anything about supply and demand?

When will you QUIT using that phony statement "losing 800,000 jobs a month"!!!
FACTS Jobs HISTORY!!!

400,000 jobs due to Hurricanes Katrina/Rita
145,000 jobs in NYC alone due to 9/11
300,000 jobs lost due to dot.com busts.
===========================
845,000 jobs LOST WAS THIS THE FAULT OF Bush causing the Dot.com, 9/11 and worst hurricanes???

NOW what the below shows is for example when Bush took office at the end of his first year there 131,826,000 people employed!
When Bush left office at the end of 2008 there were 136,790,000 people employed!
That means there were 4,964,000 more people employed!

jobs end of year (000) new workers % increase
2001...... 131,826 41 0.03% Dot.com bust, 9/11 occurred $5 trillion in real losses, 18,000 businesses
2002...... 130,341 -1,485 -1.13% 9/11 residual losses
2003...... 129,999 -342 -0.26% tax cuts began
2004...... 131,435 1,436 1.10%
2005...... 133,703 2,268 1.73%
2006...... 136,086 2,383 1.78%
2007...... 137,598 1,512 1.11%
2008...... 136,790 -808 -0.59%
2009...... 130,807 -5,983 -4.37% absolute worst losses in in 28 years!
2010...... 129,818 -989 -0.76%

NOW at any time during Bush's years were there 800,000 jobs LOST PER MONTH??????
AVERAGE JOBS ADDED EACH AND EVERY MONTH was 51,708 jobs each month BUT NO where an average of 800,000 jobs lost per month!!

WHERE DID YOU EVER get that conclusion that Bush was losing an average of 800,000 jobs per month???

Any new oil found gets capped. The new oil found by the Deepwater Horizon was capped improperly when it blew up. The only oil that made it on the market from that new find was the oil skimmed from the leak.

No it doesn't, that is only half the employment story. What a surprise, NOT!

The other half is the increase in unemployment during the Bush Regime from 6,023,000 to 12,049,000 a loss of 6,026,000 jobs for a net loss of 1,062,000 jobs over 8 years.

What is bullshit? Fact Bush approved 15,000 leases in 3 years while Obama has approved only 5,000? That is a FACT and where is it bullshit?

I'm serious doesn't it bother you to have to figure out how to prove that 15,000 approved leases in 3 years is 3 times 300% more then Obama in 3 years?

What is so wrong in admitting that is a FACT?

Are you really that dumb to continue to defend Obama's ineptitude?

Cut the perpetual dumb act. Already answered in the above post with link. Obama has already approved 7,000 DRILLING PERMITS for the already leased land that the oil industry has not bothered to use. The oil monopoly only wants more leases to keep that land away from any possible competition.
