Trudeau criticizes Trump, but Canada also detains migrant children, sometimes for months at a time

It's funny, because if you read the article, you notice something strange.

"The U.S. is the focus of international outrage for its policy of separating children from their parents and detaining them after they cross the border in search of asylum."

"But Canada has also detained migrant children "

Notice in the second one there is no "separating children from their parents".

"and in some cases, has restricted access to their asylum-seeking parents "

In some cases (the US is all cases) has restricted (in the US is wasn't restricted, it was total separation) access.

"Last year, 151 minors were detained with their parents in Canadian immigration holding centres.

Eleven others were held in custody unaccompanied by an adult,"

So, in 151 cases, 11 were held in custody unaccompanied. There might be reasons for this that are legitimate, it might be choice, we don't know. But it's certainly not the norm.
