awesome - esp opening scenes were Hitler is decending from the skies............

The rehabilitation of Lili Reisenthal is kind of squicky. She seemed totally unrepentant.

The marriage of music(IIRC it is from Wagner's Parsifal) and film is cool when Disney does it. It gives you shivers when you see this and know the history.

Of course, she borrowed heavily from Sergei Esienstien, and parts of it are so you tube these days.

Somebody either took a film appreciation class in school or is an cinema autodidact.

(Glumov's Diary) (short)
(Strike)
(The Battleship Potemkin)
(October: Ten Days That Shook the World)
(The General Line aka "Old And New")
  • 1930 : Romance sentimentale (France)
(¡Qué viva México! released in 1979)
(Bezhin Meadow until 1937)
(Alexander Nevsky)
(Ivan The Terrible, Part I)
(Ivan The Terrible, Part II)
(Ivan The Terrible, Part III)

Leni Refensthal was a great documentary film maker and Triumph of the Will attests to that fact. I find her film Olympia which documented the 1936 Berlin games more compelling than Triumph of the Will. She went on to blaze new trails in underwater cinematography. She was also a beauty and a popular actress in German cinema. Check her out in The Blue Light sometime.

Why should she reprint ?

She totally believed in her cause.

Aren't you glad we fought WW II and deposed Hitler? I know I am! Madmen like Hitler and the scum who worshipped him need to be eradicated and their memory sponged from the minds of mankind. Those who find Hitler an appealing character today are just too stupid to deserve the oxygen they breathe.

Hitler was a visionary leader and a patriot to Germany.

Sadly he got off course towards the end.

And wasn't able to fulfill his and Germany's destiny.
You're a political moron of the first order.

"Sadly" he got off course?!? He KILLED MILLIONS BECAUSE HE HAD A GRUDGE. And you say he "got off course".

"Visionary leader"?!? Was his vision to eradicate whole segments of society? He was the DEVIL COME TO EARTH!

Did you ever see Disney's war propaganda? An American eagle coming down to attack the Japanese octopus that has covered the world. It's really beautiful and make one want to go to war. This time it's a Mexican donkey named Luis trying to take over the world.
