    Trade Works. Tariffs Don't.
The administration’s new tariffs threaten to spark a global trade war.

'China, the EU, Mexico and Canada have already retaliated or announced plans to retaliate with billions of dollars in tariffs on American-made products.

Tariffs imposed by the United States are nothing more than a tax increase on American consumers and businesses–including manufacturers, farmers, and technology companies–who will all pay more for commonly used products and materials.

Retaliatory tariffs imposed by other countries on U.S. exports will make American-made goods more expensive, resulting in lost sales and ultimately lost jobs here at home.

This is the wrong approach, and it threatens to derail our nation’s recent economic resurgence.'

Tariffs are the Wrong Approach | U.S. Chamber of Commerce

So now major U.S. corporations (like GM) AND the U.S. Chamber Of Commerce are stating the obvious....tariffs/trade wars DO NOT WORK.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce makes the case against Trump's tariffs

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched a new lobbying campaign on Monday to illustrate the ways that the Trump administration's tariffs can hurt every state in the nation economically.

Why it matters: The nation's biggest business group — with 3 million members, per Reuters, who first reported the campaign — is usually an ally of the Republican Party and its politicians. And it has previously advocated for economic moves from the administration, like the GOP's new tax law, so its opposition is striking.

'The administration is threatening to undermine the economic progress it worked so hard to achieve. We should seek free and fair trade, but this is just not the way to do it.'
    — U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue in a statement to Reuters

Maybe they should contact China, Canada the EU et al. and let them know then, because Canada alone has over 19000 tariffs applied to foreign countries, on top of massive barriers, many hidden and covert.

Otherwise, as the saying goes, "you smack me and I'll smack you back", and that's what Trump is doing. It's about time someone confronts the fake capitalists of the world. He offered them no barriers or tariffs and they all ran and hide the sob's.

Then explain why the EU and Canada have such big tariffs on American goods? Should we go zero tariffs 100% globally?

That's why Canada's, China's, and the EU's per capita GDP is absolute shit compared to the U.S. Yet you want us to adopt Canada's policies. What a stupid train of thought that must have been.

Because they don't need to worry about their shitty GDP since they don't have a global military empire to pay for.

    How are the debt levels?

Don't be naive. America has been the Golden Goose for these socialists governments on top of the millions of jobs and 10's of thousands of factories stolen. Your taxpayers and future generations who will deal with your debt are saddled with subsidizing the global socialists.

Don't let these sob's fleece you any longer, or America won't ever recover.

Canada has almost the exact same debt to GDP ratio the U.S. does. But your taxpayers subsidize your products, essentially paying for a chunk of the products we want. Thank you, now stop trying to convince us your retarded tariffs are a great idea.
