The truth. Good post.
It’s the “Son’s and Daughter’s of the Confederacy” not the “Confederate’s” the war ended in 1865. Their ancestors fought in the war. Most likely from the area near Wake Forest.
My first impression is that the town fathers are wimps to shut down a parade that proudly flies a flag that symbolizes slavery instead of Christmas over a 'potential' threat. But then I remember that NC has been burnt by a parade in Charlottesville, and I can see their point. I guess if it were my choice, I'd forego the event too.
What are those confederates burning the US flags.

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Images of a flag burning incident at Marion Square in downtown Charleston over the weekend has ignited controversy across social media platforms.
DeRay McKesson, a civil rights activist with WeTheProtesters.org, posted photos and video on his Twitter page Sunday showing a group of people in Marion Square burning the American and Confederate flags.
WeTheProtesters lists McKesson as a member of its planning team, and the Founder and Co-Editor of the Ferguson Protester Newsletter.

When did Christmas need linking to racism ?
The looney left if they had their way would ban everything.
They live in a constant state of mental misery. ...
Well the looney right want to ban Muslims from the US.
The 70 year old parade is a Christmas Parade,
only the confederates thought they would intrude for the last 20 years.
What does the Confederate flag have to do with the baby Jesus?
[sarcasm] Yeah, it's a good place for the Sons & Daughters of the Confederacy. They want to remind everybody that the greatest gift the Confederacy gave to Black people was to beat them, whip them and force them to pick cotton. [/sarcasm]
