Economies recovered quickly at one time prior to so much government intervention, the 1921 Depression started out worse than the GD but was over with within a year or so ,IIRC. The Long Depression in the late 1800's lasted ;well, a long time; but it was after the Civil War and other factors, I need to go revisit these two eras.

At times they have. It depends on if elitist libs RINOs were in charge. Then they wasted money on conservative government programs. Mostly to repair damage done by the libs to things like the Military and business. Things that keep us safe and earn us money, you know.

Libs use spending as wealth redistribution which does nothing but shrink our economy by increasing our debt burden and ability to spend on things that would help this nation or cut taxes to encourage government to grow. Clinton gets credit for being smart enough to sign off on the improving budgets passed by congress, but Newt and company get the nod just as much. Early-Voting can't get here fast enough as far as i'm concerned. I am now much more optimistic about things really changing. However some people have their expectations a little out of whack. Taking back the House is certainly possible but taking the Senate back is virtually impossible. I know some believe that taking the Senate back is possible but i just don't see it. The best thing the Republicans can do in the Senate is to win some seats back and make it a more balanced Senate once again. This balance will put an end to this disastrous Socialist/Progressive agenda. You don't need to win the Senate back to end their agenda. Just make the vote close again and you've won. I am pretty optimistic overall though. Get out and vote. Make 2010 count people.
