Micheal Jordan may have been the most popular athlete of all time, but he certainly wasn't the best.

    Jim Thorpe was the best.

He could have gone pro and made a living in many different areas of sport. You recall Jordans' failed attempt at baseball?

I remember seeing a little documentary about Jim Thorpe on Armed Forces TV some years back. Jim was receiving the Gold medal in some event, I can't remember what, from the King of some country I can't remember either:

King: "You sir, are the greatest athlete I've ever seen!"
    Thorpe: "Thanks King."

Micheal Jordan?!?!?!!?....You gotta be shittin' me.

He couldn't even track a fly ball.

Bo Jackson not only kicks his ass, but could kick a dime off a baseball and leave 3¢ change.

I think this list is for the athletes that transcended their respective sports.

Jordan couldn't "transcend" his way through AA ball.

He was a great basketball player -probably the best- but nothing more.

Jim Thorpe kicked his ass as a pure athlete...As did Bo Jackson....And Jackie Robinson....

Being athletic is more than being a one-trick pony.
