Too high a standard for talk show hosts?

Perhaps I expect too much in the area of honor, integrity, and the like but lately I have been very disappointed by in-your-face conservative talk show hosts.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a conservative commentator. She lectures people on such topics as sex outside of marriage, premarital cohabitation, and the viewing of pornography. Yet, she had an affair and even had nude photographs made of her.

There is Rush Limbaugh who was married three times and allowed himself to become addicted to pain killers after he condemned drug abuse.

Then there is Michael Savage. He asked people to donate money to help him sue CAIR “to the bitter end if necessary” and take CAIR to the Supreme Court if necessary. He chickened out but never offered to return donations to those who believed him.

Of course there is Sean Hannity who offered to be water-boarded for charity. Keith Olbermann offered him $1000 per second if he would do it. There has not been a peep from Sean since then.

Now, I’m not talking about politicians. I think that we all know how hypocritical they can be. Do in-your-face liberal radio show hosts and talk show hosts have such a lack of character, integrity, and honor. Seriously, is there anything similar in Keith Olbermann’s background or in Rachel Maddow’s background?

You made a point that you did not intend to make.

The implied point is that yes, Dr. Laura did have a rough history but she learned from that experience and now wishes to help other people to avoid the same things she went through.

The implied point is that yes, Rush Limbaugh was addicted to Oxycontin but even today on his show he drew a negative analogy between his own addiction to Oxycontin and the addiction of politicians to power. Effectively, he uses his past experiences to reflect on other issues.

Another conservative you did not mention is Glenn Beck. He was an alcoholic and living a dangerous life for much of his younger years. But now he frequently references his problems as an alcoholic to current issues today and warns people against the path he took.

The overall unintended implied point that you made was that these people have gone through bad experiences and have learned from them.

It would be hypocrisy if these people were still doing these things while at the same time criticizing other people for doing the same, but they're not.

Therefore, you have unintentionally established that the conservative radio voice is in fact pure in its intentions and devoid of hypocrisy.

Congratulations.

So how does that apply to Hannity and Savage?

It doesn't.

Hannity should back up his words and Savage should return the money.

then we're mostly agreed.

personally, I take more issue with Rush accepting legal help from the ACLU in regards to his medical history and records while still arguing against both the ACLU and the idea of medical privacy in regards to the female American soldier who was captured, who rush wanted to prove had been raped so he could argue against the idea of female soldiers.

Did Savage ever get any money for the suit? Maybe rather than chickening out he never got any backers. Ever consider the possibility?

As for Hannity I'll have to have more than your say so on that preferably the clip from which the isolated statement was yanked.

As for integrity get back to me when some Democrat office holder somewhere or the other has some.

As witness queen Nan's performance today. Woman came off like a two year old with her hand stuck in the cookie jar. She desperately wants to get her hand free but she won't turn loose of that cookie.

More fucking crying for more fucking censorship. What's next? Expecting porn stars to have clean urine?

Both of which occured prior to her religious conversion and her radio-program... reducing your point to pure idiocy.

There is Rush Limbaugh who was married three times and allowed himself to become addicted to pain killers after he condemned drug abuse.

ROFL... What the hell does being married three times have to do with becoming addicted to prescription pain killers?

And are you saying that an Addict can't condemn addiction? What brand of imbecile are you exactly?

Of course there is Sean Hannity who offered to be water-boarded for charity. Keith Olbermann offered him $1000 per second if he would do it. There has not been a peep from Sean since then.

Nor has there been a 'peep out of Olberman'... who holds the keys to that CHALLENGE, since SHE MADE IT!

It isn't up to Hannity to run Olberman down for the Million Bucks he's got to put up... WHEN OLBERMAN COUGHS UP THE COIN, HE CAN GET BACK ON HIS LOWEST RATED CABLE PROGRAM AND SHOW THE WORLD THAT HE'S GOT A MILLION BUCKS READY TO SEE HANNITY WATERBOARDED FOR 15 minutes...

Be sure to let us know when that happens...

Yep. Keith can be vicious but I think that Sean is being a little bit petty and fussy too. Anyway, pettiness and viciousness doesn’t have anything to do with what I’m talking about.

Hmmm. Good point. Perhaps I have been too general – and I criticize others for making sweeping generalizations. People make mistakes, learn, and carry on. Just because there are a few bad people in a large group, it does not follow that the entire group is bad. Point taken.

Okay. I didn't know the sequence of events. I didn't know that the had a convenient conversion after the fact.

ROFL... What the hell does being married three times have to do with becoming addicted to prescription pain killers?

It is called hypocracy and reveals a lack of honor, character, and integrity. The very point that I'm trying to make.

He has $1000 ready for every second that Hannity gets waterboarded. He has peeped (brought it up) several times. Do we need to rehash this? We simply disagree about what should happen next. You think that Olbermann needs to do something more. I think that Hannity should take the next step and at least acknowledge Olbermann's offer.
