NEW YORK – President Barack Obama condemned Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s speech at the United Nations Thursday, in which Ahmadinejad blamed the United States for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, calling it “offensive” and “hateful.

Obama had sharp words Friday for Ahmadinejad. His statement about 9/11 was “inexcusable,” Obama said. And he took particular issue with the Iranian leader making it “here in Manhattan, just a little north of ground zero, where families lost their loved ones, people of all faiths, all ethnicities who see this as the seminal tragedy of this generation.”

“To have a president who makes outrageous, offensive statements like this does not serve the interests of the Iranian people, does not strengthen Iran’s stature in the world community,” Obama added.

Comments made were too close to Ground Zero? Sounds like a message to me.

Ironic?

What is going to happen when they rebuild the Trade Center and there is a Muslim prayer area INSIDE the building?
