Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!

Out of all the Christmas music that I have, this one is still my favorite. I bought it on LP when it came out. My favorite is number five: Christmas Lullaby, with words and music by Peggy Lee and Cy Coleman.

LIVING STRINGS/LIVING VOICES

Angels bless you, little one,
While you’re fast asleep.
You’ll awake to dancing toys,
Candy canes, Christmas joys.

And I pray your whole life through,
Angels will watch over you.
Loving you the way I do,
My little one, sleep well.

Holy shit, it's Christmas! *giddy*

I'm posting my favourite 'christmas' song, as a cheers to the holidays:

Escucha hermano la cancion de la alegria/ Listen, my brother, to the song of joy
el canto alegre del que espera un nuevo día/ The happy chant of he who awaits the new day

Ven canta sueña cantado / Come, sing, dream as you're singing
vive soñando el nuevo sol / Live, as you're dreaming, the new dawn
en que los hombres / In which men
volveran a ser hermanos. / Will be brothers again

Si en tu camino solo existe la tristeza / If on your path there's only sadness
y el llanto amargo de la soledad completa, / and the bitter cry of complete solitude

Ven canta sueña cantado / Come, sing, dream as you're singing
vive soñando el nuevo sol / Live, as you're dreaming, the new dawn
en que los hombres / In which men
volveran a ser hermanos. / Will be brothers again

Si es que no encuentras la alegria en esta tierra / If you can't find happiness on this earth
buscala hermano mas haya de las estrellas, / Look for it, brother, beyond the stars

Ven canta sueña cantado / Come, sing, dream as you're singing
vive soñando el nuevo sol / Live, as you're dreaming, the new dawn
en que los hombres / In which men
volveran a ser hermanos. / Will be brothers again

It's really just a rendition of the Ode to Joy, but I think it encapsulates the spirit of the season better than any old carol.

Yeah, peace on earth and stuff. :eusa_pray:

A CHRISTMAS POEM
by ME

The snow was falling softly on the grass and on the trees
With little help from sudden gust, or steady winter breeze
It made no sound as it came down to blanket all in sight
Without a pause it fell to earth relentless through the night

When morning came the clouds had passed, the sky was bright and blue
The sun had risen o'er the hill, and warmed the scene anew
The snow was glistening in the trees, and weighing on the bough
Yet not enough to break a branch, they persevered somehow

Children playing in the snow, a snowman here and there
Their laughter brightened all around and echoed through the air
A snowball flying now and then that added to their glee
A Christmas morning to remember, etched in memory

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
