Kansas cut taxes, erased a surplus, created massive deficits, and closed those deficits by raiding the highway fund, closing schools early, increasing tolls and user/access fees, increasing tuition costs for state colleges, increasing co-pays and co-insurance for Medicaid patients, and raiding the welfare block grant. It's been well documented. Pay attention. This is a familiar, general, vague refrain that you hope casts you as some sort of spendthrift when the reality is that most of the waste comes from low taxes that supposedly create growth but never do. More is wasted on tax cuts for the rich that never trickle down. Conservatives say government is the problem, then get elected and prove it.
