Cabbie Runs Down Students
Religious Argument Leaves One Hospitalized

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A local cab driver allegedly tried to run over two customers after a fight over religion became heated.

The incident happened early Sunday morning on the Vanderbilt campus and left one man hospitalized and a cab driver arrested, said police

Two students visiting from Ohio were coming from a bar downtown when they got into an argument with their driver over religion, said police. After they paid the driver he allegedly ran them down in a parking lot.

Ibrihim Ahmned, of United Cab, was arrested and charged with assault, attempted homicide and theft. One of the passengers, Andrew Nelson, managed to outrun the cab but Jeremy Invus was taken to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries, said police.

Ahmed has been convicted of misdemeanors including evading arrest in a motor vehicle and driving on a suspended license, said police.

Ahmed was charged with theft because police said the license plate on his cab was listed as stolen. His bond is set at $300,000.

You think liberals want to kill people who disagree?

Alot of them do. I know they would be more than happy if President Bush or Dick Cheney were assasinated. They've been talking about it for years.

If you ever hear the people who call up Hannity I'm sure alot of people would kill him if they had a chance.

Some aren't that bad but too many are.

I will need to think about this. I am having a hard time believing any sane american at all would like a fellow country man dead because of his political standpoint. This isn't a language thing? You actually say that alot of americans would like their president to get killed, for real?

Here are a few more examples of liberal tolerance.............

Liberal Hate Speech
Liberals constantly accuse Conservatives of using "hate speech." This charge is leveled so often and against so many different people and institutions it quickly becomes clear that Liberals label any opinion with which they disagree as hate speech. Ironically, they often do the very thing for which they criticize others.
Below are examples of Liberal hate speech and how they use Political Correctness (and the law) to silence anyone that dares disagree.

Dowd Says She's Going to Heaven,
Conservatives Are Going to Hell
(NewsMax.com, Nov. 8, 2004)

The leftist media establishment keeps showing why its hateful bias only helped President Bush get re-elected. The New York Times' common scold Maureen Dowd provided the best example yet on "The Chris Matthews Show" Sunday.

Dowd, stewing throughout the program about the people's latest rejection of the Democrats and everything they stand for and don't stand for, gave a bizarre response at the end when Matthews asked his guests to tell him something he didn't know.

"The Rapture is coming," Dowd told her host and fellow Democrat, and "you and I are going up," but "all these hypocritical conservatives" who want to tell everyone what to do are not.

Perhaps she was joking, but her was face was as sour and dour as ever. Matthews seemed startled by her oddball outburst and quickly changed the subject.

Maureen, please continue to spout away and provide further "assistance" to your party in the next elections. And stop the presses: Someone at the New York Times believes in heaven and hell?

Bush-Hacked
(Andrea Peyser, New York Post, October 21, 2004)

SUPPORTING President Bush is not just socially suicidal in this town — it can endanger your career and cost you big bucks, as one cabby discovered the hard way.

Haitian-born Etzer Jerome was fined $500 and had his license suspended three weeks — a loss of some $5,000 — simply because, he says, he committed a new kind of infraction: Backing Bush While Black.

"I'm a Bush man," Jerome, 49, told me while recounting a story that couldn't happen anyplace else.

As Jerome tells it — and his account is supported, in large part, by Taxi and Limousine Commission documents — a political argument with an ardently Democratic passenger in March devolved into an Upper West Side version of TV's "Crossfire," only far more shrill, ugly and expensive.

It happened after he gave the wrong answer to a passenger's question: "Do you like President Bush?"

On this much, everyone agrees:

On March 3, Jerome, a U.S. citizen who lives on Long Island with his wife and two sons, and owns his own taxi — "I'm a lucky cabby" — was eating lunch in his car at 181st Street and Broadway.

Elizabeth Grainger asked for a ride to 116th Street. He dropped his sandwich, and they drove off.

And then, the young woman brought up politics.

"There was a pleasant conversation for several blocks until Complainant [Grainger] asked Respondent [Jerome] if he liked Pres. Bush," wrote Administrative Law Judge Michael Schwartz, who presided over Jerome's TLC disciplinary hearing in June.

And this is where the warring parties start seeing their struggle as differently as, well, George W. Bush and John Kerry.

Jerome told me the ride went sour after he disagreed, bitterly, with Grainger's assertion that Bush wrongfully helped oust Haitian dictator Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

"Do you like Bush?" Grainger asked Jerome.

"I voted for Bush!" Jerome said he answered.

At that, he contends, Grainger, who is white, spat: "How can a black man vote for Bush?" And she asked him to stop the cab.

Jerome said she jumped out, paid her fare — but only after he tapped the horn — and got into another cab. But, first, he said, she shouted, "I'm going to eff you."

Grainger filed a complaint against Jerome with the TLC, charging him with harassment.

At a June 16 hearing, Grainger testified, tearfully, that Jerome had threatened and verbally abused her.

Based on her testimony, Judge Schwartz concluded that Jerome "became belligerent, threatened Complainant and acted in such a manner that Complainant demanded to be let out of the cab before her destination," he wrote.

Schwartz further lectured Jerome: "Respondent, if he did not want to converse with Complainant, could have said that to her."

Schwartz found Jerome guilty, and slapped him with the fine and suspension. Jerome's appeal was tossed without a hearing.

Reached last night, Grainger, 30 said she felt "terrorized" by Jerome, who she said initially refused to let her out of his cab.

GOP-Hack $mack
(Andrea Peyser, New York Post, October 26, 2004)

October 26, 2004 -- A WORD of advice to New York City taxi drivers: If you support President Bush in this GOP-hostile town, keep your mouth shut.

Last week, I introduced you to Etzer Jerome, who was fined $500 and had his hack license suspended for three weeks after he expressed fondness for Bush to a passenger. Well, he's not the first driver to run afoul of the unwritten Code of Politically Correct Cabby Conduct.

Meet Mira Chaikin.

Last summer, the 15-year taxi veteran disagreed with a passenger over the war in Iraq — which she favors.

Chaikin was fined $150 by the Taxi and Limousine Commission. For being "discourteous."

"I said, 'The troops are doing a good job.' And she [the passenger] went off on it," contends Chaikin, of Queens, who attends John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Here's what happened:

In July 2003, Chaikin picked up a woman at Penn Station and headed toward East 86th Street. "Soon after, the conversation turned to the war in Iraq . . . with [the passenger] indicating she opposed it, while [Chaikin] supported the war," administrative-law Judge Frank Fioramonti wrote after Chaikin's disciplinary hearing last Sept. 15.

The passenger, who only gave me her initials, K.B. — identities are kept secret in TLC tribunals — told me, "It escalated to her [Chaikin] attacking me and my character because I'm a musician."

K.B. insists Chaikin accused her of doing drugs and having sex at anti-war rallies.

In a recording I've reviewed of the hearing, Chaikin denies making rude comments. Judge Fioramonti continually interrupts her. He deemed the passenger "credible." Chaikin's appeal was denied.

Cabbie Runs Down Students
Religious Argument Leaves One Hospitalized

The incident happened early Sunday morning on the Vanderbilt

According to this one sided story, its ok to go out saturday night,
get drunk and belligerent, and tell someone that their religion is a
joke,
causing them to become enraged by your utter oblivious ignorance, and
seek harm on you due to your a spoiled little american self righteous
shit-head-ness.

Did no one ask the cabby what was said.

I guess the statements of two slightly wasted white kids suffices.

I dont condone the violence that occured, but please explain
the absence of defence for the actions.

Why were there no quotes of the anti religious slander that was
obviously enraging enough to encite violence.

SO if i were to stand out side of a mega-church-superdome drunk on
sunday afternoon and start shouting hateful things against the Lord
allmighty, i shouldnt expect repercussions.

its just another example of the one sided propagandist media we so
readily enjoy.

Stories like this really make me wonder why libs aren't the group of people most upset w/ Muslims. Libs preach and preach and preach tollerance and along comes the most intolerant group of people on the face of the earth and the libs have nothing to say about it.

Too easy. There is no "deference" as you choose to call it because what the kids did was NOT illegal. In this country one is still allowed to express one's viewpoints no matter how popular or unpopular they are supposedly without fear of retaliation by an insane cabbie.

What the cabbie did was illegal. It is against the law to assault others with the intent to kill.

Simple enough, or do I need to get out the cosntruction paper and fat crayons for ya?

My next question is ... how does the thread title reconcile with actual events? Obviously, the cabbie's crimes were NOT tolerated.

There is a pattern here. Muslims riot and kill people over cartoons. They riot and kill over a fake new story over US troops flushing the Koran down the toilet. They behead anyone who does not pray six times per day. They bury women up to their necks and throw bricks at their face until they are dead for violating any "rules" about how they dress or being out in public without a male escort

This is what the US is up against

I understand that. But it still doesn't answer the question. In this case, the cabbie WAS arrested. That is showing legal INtolerance for his crimes and whatever excuse he had for committing them.
