Tolerance.........Liberal Style!!!

We already went through that in the 60's remember?

Thank God no one has been assasinated like back then.

We are dealing with the same crowd as those in the sixties though. Things calmed down only because many of them assumed the power they fought against so much. Now their monopoly has been completely broken. They have lost their power. Do you really trust that many of them or their guilliable disciples will hesitate to use force again if they have to?

I just finished "Left Illusions" by David Horowitz. David Horowitz is a former communist/radical who turned conservative. In one chapter, he recounts his experiences as a CONSERVATIVE speaker at universities..... it's almost the same story as the one posted above. What is even MORE revealing is that he compares his experiences as a conservative speaker at universities with his experiences as a RADICAL speaker at the same universities and in some cases, dealing with the same people. Well.... I guess I don't have to tell you how it turned out, I'm sure you already know. David Horowitz experienced a total day/night shift in his treatment. The same tactics were used e.g. shouting down the opposition, intimidation, bureaucracy, "mistakes" in making accommodations by the university administration.

According to David Horowitz, there is some history behind universities becoming so radical and intolerant. An Italian Communist (whose name escapes me) theorized that since the "bourgeuis" (i.e. "capitalists") controlled all the means of production, the only way to bring about revolution and change society was to take control of those institutions that they didn't control. Universities fit the bill.... they were open to new ideas, tolerant etc. By sowing the seeds of Marxist thought, infiltrating these institutions of learning with left leaning radicals, the Left would eventually inculcate the masses into their way of thinking and thus bring about revolution of the society that they wished to overthrow.

My Italian parents have a word to describe groups like this cozy cabal of communists that inhabit our universities, "la Mafia". Yep, that's right, ... "Mafia". You see, the term "Mafia" is used to describe a group/organization/clique that you are either IN, obey the rules of (or ELSE!) and get to enjoy the privileges of belonging to or you are OUT of and "get the business". So it can be applied to any organization, not just organized crime. So the universities are full of radical leftist mafias, and use the same tactics as Don Corleone (except they haven't killed anyone.... yet)...... Hey, if Bush is Hitler, then the universities presidents are mafia dons!

So.... any person who dares turn against this mafia of leftists, gets to suffer the results of their unpleasant little tactics...... which parallel those of the mafia. And like the "La Cosa Nostra", there is a code of silence (you stay with the party line 100% with absolutely no deviation .... OR ELSE), denial that it exists ("there isn't a liberal slant in the media", etc), and if you dare to turn against them, they put a "contract" out on you, you become a non-person.

Eh.... me and da boys we's going to see dat Ann Coulter bitch an' crack a few heads, ya know whadda I mean? Eh! Fuhgettaboutit!

I have also read Left Illusions, and recommend it as a good "eye opener" for the libs who participate on this board. This book is written from personal experience and is an up-close-and-personal view of the left and how they operate. The radical left of the 60's is very much alive and well today; they just went into politics, the mainstream media, and our colleges/universities as professors and administrators. They retain the same socialist/communist ideology and goals as they had in the past.

Nope, not in the least. If you can't win the multitude (i.e., uneducated idiots) over with liberal philosophy, then resort to lies and violence. Should do the trick every time.

I think when push comes to shove the majority of Dem's don't believe the bullshit foisted by the lefties in the party.. A lot of those folks vote Dem out of habit and don't really have much in common with the angry, Anti-Western, Anti-American, Christ hating, freaks that make up the left leadership...

SOOOOOO true!!!! I live in Ohio, one of the battleground states in the last election, and in a rural area. I know many people who voted democrat because their parents always voted democrat, and because "democrat is for the working man." What a load!!! But these are people with less education (although a college education these days is not likely to spawn free thinking), who don't care about ideals and philosphies. They just want more money in their pockets, and they can't seem to remember the nice fat tax rebates they received in GWB's early years. I personally know one man who refused to believe that John Kerry wanted to raise taxes. His labor union told him otherwise. His wife tried to explain to him that Kerry talked a pretty talk, but his votes were always AGAINST tax cuts. This poor guy responded "Kerry's vote? Kerry doesn't vote. He's running for president." True story.

This is a nice guy, fairly intelligent, a family man, who is in dire and stubborn ignorance about what his party supports.

That is so true, my grandparents on my dad's side were the types to just vote Democrat no matter what, It could have been Magilla Gorilla for all they knew. My dad happily was the one that got away and grew a brain.

I am going to read that one, and Im sure it will just confirm everything I already suspect and fear.

I third the recommendation of the book. This should be a required reading for anyone who is serious about politics.

I never understood that claim, when I'd see it:

Democrats: Bad for big-business. Where does the 'working man' work? For a big business.

Democrats: More taxes. Who hates paying taxes? People who work. (likely for big business)

So..yeah...go figure.

:D

I know. This is what i dont understand about some people. For example about a few years ago some Airline was hoping to cut pay alittle to some of the employees or they would have to declare bankruptcy. Of course for some reason the Union had to vote on this and the union opposed pay cuts, forcing the airline to declare bankrupcy. I was just watching this and thinking, you know id rather take a small pay cut and still have a job than to oppose it and have me and thousands others out of a job and all competing for the same jobs on the market. I mean taking the pay cut would allow me to still provide for myself and family, and if i really wasn't happy with it atleast i would have a job while i searched for a better paying job without having to worry about thousands of others competing for those same jobs. I can't understand the logic behind opposing it. Even from a purely self interest standpoint it was totally contrary to the worker's self interest to put themselves out of a job.

I believe you are right Avatar. I hate to admit it though, its a frightening thought.

I know this is true where I live, but it's slowly starting to change. A friend of mine had a grandfather that voted Democrat his entire life. He admitted that he had to hold his nose when voting for John Kennedy, but he voted for him because he was the Democrat. None of his opinions matched up with Bill Clinton, but that's who he voted for in '92, which turned out to be the last time he voted before his death. There were a LOT of people around here like that, the people that cast their first vote for FDR back in 1938, decided they were a Democrat, and by God they were going to be a Democrat no matter what. It sounds horrible, but it's true that those people are starting to die off. There are more people here that vote for the person, not the party, and fewer that vote blindly by party lines. It certainly showed in the last election.
