Told Ya' America Was A Center-Right Nation

I guess retention is not your strong suit...

"If I should claim any man as my master, that man would be Burke"
Woodrow Wilson

One can always find some quote out of context, why, I'll bet some archivist could find a quote stating how bright you are.

Now, check this out:

During WW I, under the Progressive Woodrow Wilson, American was a fascist nation.
1. Had the world’s first modern propaganda ministry
2. Political prisoners by the thousands were harassed, beaten, spied upon and thrown in jail for simply expressing private opinions.
3. The national leader accused foreigners and immigrants of injecting treasonous ‘poison’ into the American bloodstream
4. Newspapers and magazines were closed for criticizing the government
5. Almost 100,000 government propaganda agents were sent out to whip up support for the regime and the war
6. College professors imposed loyalty oaths on their colleagues
7. Nearly a quarter million ‘goons’ were given legal authority to beat and intimidate ‘slackers’ and dissenters
8. Leading artists and writers dedicated their work to proselytizing for the government.

One can always find some far right wing 'think tank' that will commit character assassination and revisionist history on anyone from the Democratic Party with NO sense of moderation, balance or 'context'...it's called PROPAGANDA...It is YOUR specialty.

Intelligent people read TO gain knowledge. You already KNOW, so all you seek is ammunition.

You are by FAR the most obtuse and at the same time vial and evil minded person I've encountered on any board. Your ignorance is deep and voluminous...but it still IS ignorance.

That would be Ms. Vile to you!

A little obfuscation? You couldn't find even one itsy-bitsy error in my list of eight "VILE"conditions that the Progressive President Woodrow Wilson brought to this great county?

So, I guess I must be correct, huh?

And as for "You are by FAR the most obtuse and at the same time vial and evil minded person I've encountered on any board..."

When will my trophy arrive?

And, what's fair is fair, so here the trophy for you: the infamous “Not-Tonight-Dear,- I’ve-Got-A-Crushed-Ego” Trophy.

But, seriously, is it true that you post to drown out the voices in your head?

"Washington (CNN) – A majority of Americans think the federal government poses a threat to rights of Americans, according to a new national poll.

Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday say they think the federal government's become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens. Forty-four percent of those polled disagree.

The survey indicates a partisan divide on the question: only 37 percent of Democrats, 63 percent of Independents and nearly 7 in 10 Republicans say the federal government poses a threat to the rights of Americans."

Those on the right believe Government based on 1. consent of the governed, 2. limited government…limited in purpose, but not weak: powerful in protecting rights, 3. responsible Constitutionalism: the government is responsible to the people, not responsible for them. (should not take on too many jobs.)

For those on the left, the government must become the Administrative State, involved in every aspect of our lives.

Looks like most folks have made their choice.

PC...you right wingers LOVE REALLY BIG government...especially when it kills, arrests and executes human beings. Then it is just doing 'God's' work...

But heaven forbid our government try to help We, the People...

We face a generation of gross ignorance, strongly centered in people like YOU. A degenerate and immoral group of cretins totally brainwashed by modern day Goebbels like Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Frank Luntz ...

Goebbels was a believer in small constitutional government? ROFL

You only show you really haven't a clue what you are talking about. Why is it you nutjob liberals think anyone who disagrees with the big, nanny state, involved-in-every-aspect-of-your-life government they so love -must be a Nazi? Are you NUTS? The Nazis were SOCIALISTS -National Socialist German Worker's Party (come on -you ever hear of a conservative party with the phrase "workers' party" in it? Get REAL! LOL) from the LEFT side of the political spectrum and in reality it is YOUR side that has far more in common with them than do US conservatives! Tell me you aren't one of those idiots who thinks one totalitarian state (Nazism) is the opposite of another totalitarian state (communism). The Nazis claimed in the 30s or so that they represented the political opposite of the communist state but that doesn't mean it is actually TRUE. Because it isn't. One totalitarian state cannot be the opposite of another -they are both on the same side of the political spectrum that believes in the totalitarian state. Their disagreement with each other was just over WHO would be wielding that power. Not WHETHER government should have that kind of power.

Both are TOTALITARIAN STATES advocated by people who believe in large, extremely powerful government with total control of the lives of their citizens and therefore both are born of leftwing ideology. In other words -Nazis were liberal extremists. Absolutely NOTHING like US conservatives who oppose totalitarian states and oppose allowing government to EVER have that kind of power -no matter who happens to be wielding it. It is why conservatives are the natural enemy of both communism and socialism. And why liberals end up admiring them. Fundamental difference in philosophy about the proper role of government. Liberals think government should be the master of the people and conservatives believe WE THE PEOPLE are the master of our own government. Liberals believe people in general are too stupid to be trusted to make decisions in their own best interest and therefore government must do it for them and are therefore slaves of the state. Conservatives believe in FREEDOM and the rights of the INDIVIDUAL and government limited from interfering with those rights -NOT trying to usurp them and claim them for government instead.

Conservatives believe government should never become large and powerful enough to ever become a totalitarian state while liberals LOVE the totalitarian state. You can't be a liberal unless you do because what liberals think government should be doing requires massive government powers and control of citizens -at the expense of WE THE PEOPLE. The exact opposite of what our founders created in the Constitution -which happens to be the form of government conservatives LOVE. We don't envy the historically proven failures of socialism and communism. Our government was created to answer to WE THE PEOPLE and where the real power lies with WE THE PEOPLE -not with an ever larger and more powerful government! Conservatives want to live as all grown up adults, not as children and wards of the state. YOU still need a babysitter, call 1-800-CHANGE-MY-DIAPER.

It isn't the ideas of the people you rail about that are the new phenomenon in this country. Those ideas have always been here and were the underlying principles and beliefs of the founders as well. Same things the majority of Americans have believed in since the beginning. It is people like YOU who favor the totalitarian state and socialist principles instead of our own system, people whose principles were never part of the founders' beliefs who have not been here all along. People like you who have no real value for the freedom of speech of political opponents and in reality cannot tolerate political dissent -and make sure everyone knows that every time you open your mouth. People like YOU believe that if someone does politically disagree and has a fundamental difference in philosophy about the proper role government -as conservatives do with liberalism -those people deserve to be PERSONALLY destroyed and viciously attacked because they politically disagree with you. How....Soviet of you.

They were weary of a President who disappointed them by failure to exercise fiscal responsibility, who veered left on energy and immigration policies, and who expanded the size, role, and scope of government. And so they ignored the track record and instead chose to believe a guy who campaigned on promises of honesty, transparency, fiscal responsibility, and integrity.

Well the guy they were weary of is not absolved of his sins, but he is starting to look better than he did when compared to what we have now. This new guy is unbelievable, clueless, and hopelessly disingenuous about almost everything he campaigned on. He is unacceptable to those who value personal freedom and self determination.

I hope by November we are focused on electing people who not only talk the talk, but have demonstrated that they will walk the walk.

Fortunately then we are going to see a complete renewing of the house and a 1/3 fresh blood in the senate come November. Past time for some new real leadership that is not corrupt or bought and paid for.

Again, I wonder at why this wasn't clear November 2008?

The Federal Government is essentially the same today as it was a year ago, unless we admit that Obama is the most dynamic Executive ever to inhabit the White House.

John McCain ran the worst campaign in recent memory and came across too much as a probable Bush re-run and President Bush had very low poll ratings. Barack Obama was saying absolutely wonderful things and, being prettier, more articulate, more compelling than McCain, was somehow able to make a whole lot of really REALLY gullible people believe that he was going to do great things for America. Most of us who were listening and paying attention knew better, but even we hoped Obama would be as good as his word.

He wasn't.

I must admit that I "PERSONALLY destroyed and viciously attacked" the BoringFriendlessGuy, not because he politically disagrees with me, no it is because I love to PERSONALLY destroy and viciously attack him.

I'm sooooo sorry .

Sort of.

I'm not moving anywhere.

I'm watching you trot in a tiny little circle every three days and calling it "looking forward."

I know you like the fight as much as I do, but, for real, did you support this guy?

'Cause I want to know if this argument is academic or can I get a good laugh about your choice?

I hope, I hope, I hope you did!!

The arguement is not about supporting or not supporting "this guy."

My arguement is that the only "poll" that counts happens on election day, and that dwelling on which way the wind blows between these days might be academically satisfying, but has little to do with reality.

So, you will not give me the satisfaction of admitting it, huh?

Sick, twisted, disgusting. But, it is our key demographic.

That's right. Get some name and face recognition on some national forum, convince the party bosses that you can command the love and respect of the people, and you're off and running whether or not you're qualified to be dog catcher.

Bill Clinton I think was smart enough to play the system and get that done on his own behalf plus he also brought some decent credentials. From what I've seen of him so far, however, I don't believe Barack Obama was or is that smart. He simply talks too much stupid, something Clinton was rarely ever guilty of, and Obama brought almost no credentials. So I have to believe that there is a hidden power behind the existing throne. The question is, who? And why? Okay, that's two questions . . . .

We were told repeatedly during the 2008 election that Barack Obama was the most liberal member of the Senate, and yet he was elected president.

How would that happen in a center/right nation?

The most conservative Republicans in the Senate, or House for that matter, aren't even competitive in the GOP primaries let alone able to get elected president.

How would that happen in a center/right nation?
