CNN and FOX news suck. Their coverage is horrible, it's all Japan all the time, and before that it was all Libya all the time. Even reading the bottom of the screen on CNN does you no good, as it all pertains to Japan. At least on Fox you get other news along the bottom, but not enough info to make it worth reading. No wonder the public is so misinformed or uninformed all together.

Read some good major newspapers.

Their coverage of things will be far less focused and give you a wider perspective about what's going on in our world.

I read somewhere that some guy in Japan had to turn off CNN Japan because all they would do is show disaster footage and say "Amazing" and "Incredible".

It's the big story that will bring in the ratings. The moment this stops-they'll go somewhere else. ALL news shows are about the ratings first-accuracy/reporting real news second (case in point how they all jumped all over that boy in a bubble without vetting it).

The local paper(s) are still the best place to get your news imo.
