To the YOUTH in this country--from a Tea Partier

What I like to know from a Tea Party member is what they want for themselves and for others. They sure do not want healthcare for themselves and for all their family members. Being in Tennessee, I sure know they do not want to have dentures even that they only have a few teeth left as I have talked with a few.

They want the US Constitution followed. If that means health care reform takes a different form fine. If it means we have to work harder and help our neighbor PERSONALLY good.

Note the important difference between wanting health care and being forced to accept this radical new approach. They woudl like the government to live within their means as well. This means we pay as we go and not burden future generations with our present needs. That is extremely selfish to expect the future to pay for our entitlements now.

Were in the United States Constitution that a single person can opt out of the laws? There are thousands of laws that we have to follow with all of us that was not even thought about during the 18 th century.

I make that argument all the time, and it falls on deaf ears.

Who said anything about opting out? They are expressing an opinion. You equate laws to the Constitution. A frequent error on the part of liberals. Laws must conform to the Constitution, not the other way around.

Conform to, yes, but also expand upon the intent as necessary.

It was a question followed by commentary. Get a grip and up your comprehension

A commentary??? Nothing you said in the highlighted post above is true. I didn't say any of those things. So if there is nothing wrong with your reading comprehension, then what is it?? You like to tell lies and call it a commentary??

Rinata, you took a ridiculous statement and got called on it. It is YOUR responsibility to explain yourself. You basically said kids would be better influenced by Charles Manson than someone who is a tea party member. A completely false statement. I simply made a comment that you didn't like because it showed the lack of thought in your post. Deal with it. Preferably in an adult manner where you reexplain that you disagree with tea party members on the impact of government on kid's lives.

In the long run, you can continue your childish pokes and wild claims, or become a civil person of discourse. Your choice.

I think it's so funny the way you tea baggers think you know every person inside and out. What they think, what they believe, and how they should think or believe.

My remark was sarcastic. Do you know what the word means?? And I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I didn't get called on anything. That's your department.

Lastly, you are totally unqualified to teach anyone how to behave in an adult manner or any other manner. And now, lesson time!!!

SARCASM: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual b : the use or language of sarcasm

OMG, you are so funny!!!:lol::lol:

We have been demonizided as Nazi's- & or as grass roots effort that was referrred to as "asto turf, etc. etc. I have been around for 57 years & have never in my life seen such outrage within citizens my age,-even during the Viet Nam war which my husband was a part of.

The majority of Tea Patiers have never protested in their entire lives. They're out there freezing thier asses off--in all kinds of weather--out there for you kids.

We are all older & could give a damm about what happens to us, but it's you kids & our grandchildren that we care about. We know that when it comes to paying off this bill--we'll be DEAD.

You see--we just want the same for you kids that we had. Opportunity--to do what-ever-in-the-hell-you-want-to-do-without-big-government-telling-you-it-was-going to take from-you because-you-had-to-pay-for-someone-else-that-didn't-have-your-ambtiton.

So for you younsters. The next time you see a "Teapartier"--Walk up & give them a big hug--because they are not there for themselves-they are there for YOU."

First of all, it was not addressed to you. Second of all, have I not made it clear that I don't care what you think?? Lastly, I think being funny or clever is really subjective.

So buzz off!!!

Were in the United States Constitution that a single person can opt out of the laws? There are thousands of laws that we have to follow with all of us that was not even thought about during the 18 th century.

Conform to, yes, but also expand upon the intent as necessary.

Incorrect, you must amend the Constitution.

So why do we have a Supreme Court? THEY have the ultimate power to make law, based on INTENT of the Constitution. The USSC does not initiate the amendment process to do so.

The Supreme Court is supposed to determine if something is Constitutional or not. It serves as a check and balance to the legislature and executive branches. Legislatures MAKE laws MaggieMae, not the US Supreme Court. It is fashionable to legsilate from the bench, but it is wrong. Your last statement is correct, but not germaine to our discussion. This is all basic stuff here. What is your malfunction?

Intellectual laziness and indoctrination of the youth, is what is wrong

The Supreme Court is to "interpret" the law, not make it. Geez.

We really are in trouble

You know, the tea partier types should have thought about stuff coming back and being used on THEM. Example? They started calling Obama a Nazi FIRST.

If big business and big pharma weren't sponsoring most of your rallies, then the "astro turf" movement would actually be called a "grass roots" movement. But, can't do that because it's big business pushing it along as a way to further it's own agenda.

The majority of tea partiers never protested? Really? Well then, you guys sure picked it up quick!

As far as having the best interests at heart for the kids? Really? Where is the renewable energy, where is the public option for healthcare?

I'd rather be healthy than worry about my debt.........if I'm hurt or sick, I can't work, and if I can't work, I can't get health care to fix being hurt or sick.

Give me health care, I can work and contribute to society.

As far as wanting the same thing you guys had? Nope.....don't like racism, don't like living in fear because of the government scaring us (McCarthyism anyone?), and damn sure don't like being lied to by my government. Cannabis is a prime example of one of the bigger lies. It was originally made illegal because Anslinger (an FBI dude) was a racist.

Next time I see a tea partier? I'm gonna do the same thing that I always do.......tell 'em they're fucked and to get onboard with the program rather than blocking everything.

It's not his/her fault you're not familiar with the lingo involved. Yes, courts make law: case law.

All right, so the use of "make law" was incorrect, but you're surely smart enough to know what I meant. Laws are created all the time, and when challenged as unconstitutional, it is the Supreme Court that decides. Better?

That said, and this explains my point better, to quote Justice Charles Evans Hughes: "We are under a constitution, but the Constitution is what the judges say it is."
