I do think we need to Re Examine our Aid to Egypt, While we have given them Billions for Decades, it was always predicated on 2 Key facts, that Mubarak keep the peace with Israel, and keep a Lid on the Radical Islamists in Egypt. With the Muslim Brotherhood, the first one is in Real jeopardy, and the second is clearly shot to hell.

You're right.............Japan did surrender after the bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

However..............at that time, the USA was the only country with a working nuclear weapon, Germany's program was still in it's infancy when they surrendered.

Now? Well, there are many nations that have nuclear weapons, and we're not the only one. Pakistan has 'em, and don't you think that if we nuke one of their places into glass that they're going to retaliate?

Let's say that a bunch of Islamic radicals (probably al qaeda or al qaeda wannabes) attack the U.S. Embassy in Libya and in the process kill some Americans, including the Ambassador.

If the policy suggested in the OP were in effect, we would do what? "Obliterate" Libya?

Does ANYBODY seriously suggest that the wholesale slaughter of innocent Libyans (for not all that many Libyans were necessarily involved in the attack on the embassy) somehow constitutes a morally acceptable response? Does it even (as a practical matter) forward our international goals and objectives?

I say no. It is neither moral nor effective.

Thus, I'd have to say that the suggestion offered in the OP is a pretty absurd non-starter.

What we need... is better leadership. Obama's appeasement strategy has failed. It's put us into the position of being perceived as weak. We need a strong military and we need a diplomatic strategy which rewards friendship, discourages animosity, and leaves no ambiguity about where we stand.
