Time to once again re-educate idiot libs. The Civil War was NOT about slavery

For the North- the war was always about maintaining the United States.

For the South- the war was about maintaining slavery- certainly they had other issues- but slavery was as it had been for decades- the big issue- if you want to check- read the newspapers in the South.

yup this entire thread is a joke, sure the North did not go to war over slavery that came in 62. But the South did every State that left the Union CLEARLY stated they left over the right to own slaves and the threat that no new States would be admitted allowing slavery.
 
The election of Lincoln started the Southern states to seriously think secession. By the time Lincoln gave his inaugural speech seven Southern states had already left the Union.
