Time to Admit Obamanomics has Failed

What people don't seem to realize is that in real life capitalism is an awful lot like the game 'Monopoly':

In the end somebody owns all the properties, all the houses and buildings, and has all the money. Then: GAME OVER!

There is no fixed about of money. If someone gets rich, that does not mean someone else got poor.

You're right. Obamanomics has clearly led to a healthy growth rate!
I'll trade your healthy growth rate for a 5% drop in unemployment, thank you.

And it's more like make-it-up-as-you-go-along-onomics.

What healthy Growth rate. The So called growth can only be described as Anemic, and the FED is set to revise Downward last months number anyways.

You Democrats are delusional.

LOL like monopoly. Now that is a good one. No wonder these poeple are so clueless they think Capitalism is just like Monopoly.

Unbelievable.

As long as everyone is paid in proportion to their productive value. Otherwise, when some people get rich, some other people DO get poor.

Money doesn't grow on trees, ya know.

Umm...did you ever notice that the game of monoply is modeled on the real estate market? Did that go over your head?

Sure, it's a extreme simplification, but the basics are there.

Democrats can't be trusted with anything more complex than a Little League bake sale...but I'd damn sure count the money and the cupcakes when it was over.

The population is rising, yet we don't get poorer. If there was a fixed amount of money, we'd keep having to divide it further and further and would all get poorer.
Money doesn't grow on trees, ya know.
No, it doesn't. But wealth is created.

Whatever.

How much are you willing to further add to the deficit in order to further stimulate the economy and create more jobs?
Firing and rehiring Census workers isn't proof the stimulus package worked.

Well then, if tax cuts and spending can't stimulate the economy, then we'd best cancel the rest of the stimulus, let the Bush tax cuts expire, and let the economy sort itself out on its own.

Of course the stalling economy is no surprise to republicans. After all it's what they have been hoping and planning for since day one of obama's presidency and they started acting as the party of NO. The facts that show how far into "the party of NO" that republicans have gone is the fact that they voted against legislation that they co-signed as well as ideas that they supported just to maintain the status quo.

The right obstructs and stalls any attempt to help the economy because it suits their party's political needs to do so and you wish to pretend that is a good thing? Oh well as usual with the right, the end justifies the means and party before everything.

That is an empty talking point, as the Dems have a majority and still blame the Repubs. They have failed miserably at getting anything accomplished because they are beholding to all the special interests that put them in power. At what point do the dems and their supporters stop blaming everyone and take responsibility for their actions. The arrogance of Obama and his administration will not allow them, even in the face of overwhelming evidence, to admit that govt spending and growing the govt does not work. They set themselves up to fail with their policies so don't blame the repubs for recognizing that the path the dems chose would lead us to where we are.

Talk about empty talking points?? You presented the biggest one of all. The fact is that because of the party of "NO" a supermajority is required to pass damn near everything that comes to the floor for a vote in the senate.

Fact is that the dems have not had a super majority for a large portion of obama's first two years (not full two years) so for you to run with your talking point that the dems have only the majority so you can avoid responding to the content of my post shows that you have NOTHING but empty talking points. Thanks for the spin.

Nice deflection as you completely avoided the fact that the economy is not improving yet the dems continue down this failed path. I guess that is the fault of the Repubs?
Face it, the Dems are completely ineffective even when it comes to pushing their liberal policies.
I support neither party as they are all the same in the end. I just have to respond to the constant partisan blame game and the endless, mindless mantra from the libs with the "party of no" chorus. If you do a little research you will find that any suggestions on any issue from the Repubs have been shot down and yet the Dems will continue with the "they have no solutions".
The sad fact is that while we waste our time taking sides, the country continues to get worse and the politicians continue to gain more power. They are quite happy with the divide as it takes the focus off of them. BOTH sides are full of equally corrupt, power hungry politicians that do not have our best interests in mind. You may think "your side" is better; you would be wrong.

Ditto.

Couldn't agree more. Both parties are full of self serving Clowns who don't care one iota what their bs costs the taxpayers of this country.

In short, both side suck. Best interests?? What a joke. The only interests they are interested in are their own. Jeeze and we elect thes assholes.

We should cancel any of the stimulus payments that haven't already been made.

Wow and another moron chimes it. The quote about a "healthy growth rate" was from the source listed by the righty who started this thread before it was merged with another. If you have a problem with it, then take it up with the righty who posted the source and everyone who thanked him or agreed with his spin on it. LOL

Yes, wealth is created - by the working people, not by the investors. Investors control the access to resources that allow working people to create the wealth.

When working people are not paid in proportion to the wealth that they produce, that is thievery.

Wow more talking points and BS spin, i guess that is all you have to offer. How typical.

Your OPINION is not a fact, don't you think it's time that you learned the difference??

OH, it's another one of the "I support neither party" as he can only seem to attack the left using right wing talking points and spin. LOL Yeah right. Another one of those phony independents. How typical.

You argue and spin about wasting time taking sides and then you take sides and slam the left as you spew right wing talking points. Thanks for hypocrisy and showing that you are not as indepedent as you would have others believe.
The "party of NO" is real and they have obstructed ideas that they supported and even co-signed on in order to slow down the process to maintain the status quo because they believe it will help them in NOV.

You may think that "your act" as you pretend to be an independent who can only seem to spew right wing talking points is working; you would be wrong.

Then why the rush to put the same batch of republicans that did exactly what they whine about going on now, concerning their claims of increaing the size and power of government, back in charge so they can repeat the process??

There are always interesting and paradoxical ironies to ideological stances, conservatives claim a free market will eventually mean utopia, but then they criticize liberals for claiming those same free individuals who run those markets are basically good people. Oddly it was liberals who started individual freedom as a primary constituent of a just society (still do).

So today according to conservatives, remove any constraint from the marketplace and great things will happen. Does anyone still believe that after the GD, Enron, Madoff, and the recent near collapse of the Banking industry? But conservatives hold tight to this ideological stance, corporations pay well to keep the idea wholesome. Give the corporations freedom and Disneyland follows. Sure. Maybe the outsourcing of conservatism isn't such a bad idea after all. After they are outsourced, they may, just may wake up. You think.

'In "The Quiet Revolution," John B. Judis argues that President Obama’s greatest achievement may be rebuilding the regulatory apparatus that Republican presidents since Reagan have worked so hard to dismantle.'

"Yet there is one extremely consequential area where Obama has done just about everything a liberal could ask for--but done it so quietly that almost no one, including most liberals, has noticed. Obama’s three Republican predecessors were all committed to weakening or even destroying the country’s regulatory apparatus: the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the other agencies that are supposed to protect workers and consumers by regulating business practices. Now Obama is seeking to rebuild these battered institutions. In doing so, he isn’t simply improving the effectiveness of various government offices or making scattered progress on a few issues; he is resuscitating an entire philosophy of government with roots in the Progressive era of the early twentieth century. Taken as a whole, Obama’s revival of these agencies is arguably the most significant accomplishment of his first year in office."
