Tim Pawlenty talking about Olympia Snowe

As is his right. Same as Arlen Spector

We need more elected representatives to show some balls and do what they see as right not what their party wants them to do. Otherwise, nothing will get done in Congress
I can live with that.

70,000 bridges in this country are deemed "unsafe". Wasn't it last year one bridge in Minnesota fell into a river during rush hour?

Seems those people couldn't wait for something to "get done".

One bridge collapses and the usual suspects screech Chicken Little. When are people going to wake up and realize that the Politicians and the Media have mastered the art of Fear Mongering. To them it's "One bridge collapse = All bridges in America are going to collapse tomorrow if we don't get our Trillions in Tax Dollars." This President's speech right before the vote on his "Stimulus" debacle went along those lines. It's all just a sad scam in the end. When will people learn?

I think both parties could use more members who are willing to vote their conscience and cross party lines.

In the past, Congress ofunctioned because members were willing to cross party lines on some issues. that is the way we got things done. Moderates on both sides would meet and compromise to enact legislation. Now there are few members on either side willing to do whats right to get the job done.

Since the 1990's Congress has fractured into red and blue with no middle ground. Each side is willing to force gridlock to prevent the other side from enacting legislation. That is why Congress is so universally disliked right now, and why they can't get anything done

Joe Lieberman crossed party lines

So did McCain.

Yes, and that's exactly why McCain lost, he is way too moderate for the majority of people who make up the Republican party, we are fiscal conservatives who believe in individual freedoms and responsibility. We don't want a nanny state with WH pedigrees telling us how to live our lives, robbing us of our hard earned money so that they can buy votes from their welfare constituents.

You can't be serious? There aren't enough registered Republicans to win a Senior Class President election in a large High School anymore. Moderates make up the largest voting bloc now. Those who lean too far left or too far right will have difficulty getting elected in this scenario.

What the fuck are they doing with the money they collect from tolls?

All built and maintained by state DOTs and local contractors.

The Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways, commonly called the Interstate Highway System (or simply the Interstate System), is a network of limited-access highways (also called freeways or expressways) in the United States that is named for President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who championed its formation. The entire system, as of 2006[update], has a total length of 46,876 miles (75,440 km),[1] making it both the largest highway system in the world and the largest public works project in history.[2] The Interstate Highway System is a subsystem of the National Highway System.

While Interstate Highways usually receive substantial federal funding (90% federal and 10% state) and comply with federal standards, they are owned, built, and operated by the states or toll authorities. For example, the original Woodrow Wilson Bridge (part of Interstate 95/495), was maintained by the federal government; its new span is now jointly owned and maintained by the states of Maryland and Virginia.[3] There are also other Interstate Highways within the District of Columbia, which is federal territory.[4]

While the states maintain them, we all built them

One bridge collapses and the Chicken Littles start screeching the sky is falling. It's all part of a devious and well coordinated Fear Mongering campaign to rape the Tax Payer some more. The Politicians and the Media really have mastered the art of Fear Mongering at this point. First you have to scare the sheep and then you can do almost anything you want. When are people going to wake up and realize that it's all about fear. It really is just a huge scam in the end. One bridge collapse does not = Every bridge in the country is going to collapse tomorrow if they don't get their Trillions in Tax Payer cash. Geez wake up America!

This morning on Morning Joe, Republican Tim Pawlenty was talking about Olympia Snowe. Now here is a woman who has just about single handedly frozen the Democrats plans to help the American Middle class get health care insurance. You would that one fact that she is working against so many Americans, the Republicans would be thrilled, but NOOOO.

Pawlenty was asked if Snowe was “welcome” in the Republican Party and he said, and I paraphrase, “In the Republican Party you are expected to act within “established boundaries” laid out by the leadership and if you don’t, you are not welcome”.

Hmmm, “established boundaries”. And yet, Pawlenty went on to say, “We need to do a better job of attracting moderates and independents”. Well, obviously, only if they are “within boundaries”. Wonder if he thinks “Michelle Bachmann” is “within boundaries”?

Then, there was the famous Rush Limbaugh interview on Fox. Seems the man has an interesting solution to the health care problem. He said we should have taken the stimulus money and insured all the uninsured in America.

Democrats plan – make health care fiscally responsible and self sustaining.

Limbaugh’s plan – give it away. (Sounds suspiciously like “socialism”)

These are the deep thinkers and the conservatives of the current Republican Party. Good luck.

What Pawltry means is that Republicans want the moderate votes--not the moderates say!! You do not need to read between the lines to understand that!!

"Democrats plan – make health care fiscally responsible and self sustaining."

4 hours later and it's STILL Fucking hilarious!!!

OK, I'm warning you:

Republican Health Care Plan:

Die Quickly.

Can someone let Alan Grayson know that we found his sock puppet?

Pawlenty is saying that the stimulous isn't working thus far so it would have been just as efficient to throw all that money at healthcare. I love my Democrats but if they screw this up, they will lose big in 2010.

We don't have time to fluff them, they need to get healthcare done and move on to jobs immediately. They've been dragging their feet on this for months now.
