everyone knows that english keepers suck.

so the premier league clubs use foreign keepers.

everton's keeper is tim howard (usa).

they played bolton yesterday. bolton's keeper bogdan is hungarian, but apparently bogdan has english keeper-blood.

but to be fair, it was also very windy.

Doesn't giving up a goal like that earn you a police escort home to your family who are suddenly busy taking multiple death threats?

bolton won the game 2-1, after conceding the above for a 0-1.

and it was very windy.

so, that's why bogdan might be lucky.

Just once I want to see the crowd at an American sports event rush the field, court, whatever with clear intentions of beating a referee so bad his grandkids will feel it.

Joey Crawford comes to mind.

Wait....now that I think about it I think a father/son duo beat up an MLB first base umpire a few years ago.

HICAGO (AP) -- With his eyes on home plate and his back to the seats, Tom Gamboa never saw them coming.

One second the Kansas City coach was standing near first base. The next he was slammed to the ground, a bare-chested father and his teenage son pummeling him.

"I felt like a football team had hit me from behind. Next thing I knew, I'm on the ground trying to defend myself," Gamboa said.

**************************

The father, identified by police as 34-year-old William Ligue Jr., and his 15-year-old son were led off the field in handcuffs. They were charged with aggravated battery.

Ten Cent Beer Night - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"As a result, umpire crew chief Nestor Chylak, realizing that order would not be restored in a timely fashion, forfeited the game to Texas. He too was a victim of the rioters as one struck him with part of a stadium seat, cutting his head. His hand was also cut by a thrown rock. He later called the fans "uncontrollable beasts" and stated that he'd never seen anything like what had happened, "except in a zoo".
