Well DOH----can we all say Jewish Conspiracy now ??

Anyone can always detract from the question by simply adding the word "conspiracy." This semantic slight of hand works like magic .. and presto, bingo .. the question never gets answered.

If Obama was surrounded by Hispanics .. the question would be asked .. why so many Hispanics? After all, they only make up 16% of the population.

If Obama was surrounded by African-Americans .. and in this case "surrounded" could be as few as 3 .. the question would be asked .. why so many black people? After all, they only make up 14% of the population. Is this tribalism?

If Obama was surrounded by muslims .. and in this case it could be a few as two .. the question would be raised .. where did all these muslims come from .. and more importantly, are they affecting his foreign policy?

If he was surrounded by Asians .. same question and they make up 5% of the American population.

If he was surrounded by Catholics, handicapped people, left-handed people, Venutians ...

But by some magic, any question of asking why Obama is surrounded by jewish people comes with the word "conspiracy."

That is indeed special.

Only problem is, it doesn't make the question go away.

I've heard Obama being called a Muslim and a radical Christian, but this the first I've heard him being called Jewish.

Then you haven't been listening.

I could go on and on .. and on

The question will only get louder and it doesn't have one damn thing to do with "anti-semitism"

Why Larry Summers?

Geithner was born in Brooklyn, New York City, to Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Geithner of Larchmont, New York. He completed high school at International School Bangkok, Thailand,[1] and then attended Dartmouth College, graduating with a B.A. in government and Asian studies in 1983.

After, he obtained an M.A. in International Economics and East Asian Studies from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in 1985. He has studied Japanese and Chinese and has lived in East Africa, India, Thailand, China, and Japan.

He is married to Carole M. Sonnenfeld, a Dartmouth classmate, and with her has two children, Elise and Benjamin.[2] In spare time he fly-fishes, plays tennis and surfs.[3] Geithner is Jewish.[4]

After completing his studies, Geithner worked for Kissinger and Associates in Washington, D.C., for three years and then joined the International Affairs division of the U.S. Treasury Department in 1988.

In 1999 he was promoted to Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs and served under Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers.

In 2002 he left the Treasury to join the Council on Foreign Relations as a Senior Fellow in the International Economics department. He then worked for the International Monetary Fund as the director of the Policy Development and Review Department until moving to the Federal Reserve in October 2003.[5] In 2006 he became a member of the influential Washington-based financial advisory body, the Group of Thirty.

On November 21, 2008, it was reported that President-elect Barack Obama had decided to nominate Geithner for the position of Treasury Secretary.[6][7][8]

I was rooting for Joseph Stiglitz or James Galbraith. Neither of which really had any chance to be picked, but would've probably been good choices.
