On Friday, 2 Democrats were indicted for voter fraud in Troy, New york.
From the Troy Record: After being brought into a Rensselaer County courtroom in handcuffs, Councilman Michael LoPorto and Democratic Election Commissioner Edward McDonough pleaded not guilty Friday to a combined 116 felony counts alleging they falsified dozens of absentee votes.The men were released on their own recognizance after being arraigned on an indictment handed up Friday morning. It charges McDonough, 47, with 38 counts of second-degree forgery and 36 counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument; LoPorto, 58, faces 13 second-degree forgery counts and 29 counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument.The Democrats had been the targets of a grand jury investigation that began in early December.

According to ABC News Channel 11 in Raleigh-Durham, authorities have placed the three on $10,000 bonds.

The North Carolina Republican Party says this kind of fraudulent voter behavior is why the state needs a voter ID law. In July, Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue vetoed state Republicans’ latest attempt at instituting such a law, calling it an “obstacle” to constitutional principles. Former Troy City Clerk William A. McInerney pleaded guilty Friday to a charge that he signed a voter's signature to a Working Families Party absentee primary ballot in 2009 to steer the vote to his Democratic Party candidates.

No Democratic officials were in court to support McInerney.

Voter fraud will be a big issue in 2012. Just like it was last time around. They Democrats will bus in the Illegals & Felons like they do every Election. On voter suppression; The Dems are in charge of all levels of government here in Monroe Co Indiana, and they are about to eliminate all neighborhood polling places in the county, and have all voting be in city locations. But worse than that, they will all be on the IU campus. Parking is very difficult to find on the IU campus; everywhere you go signs say "Red Permit parking only" or "Staff" or whatever. When I go to the IU library I have to park a half mile away and over walk to it.

Rural people are not fond of visiting the IU campus, so they couldn't come up with a more hostile environment for the conservatives out in the county. We will have what are to be called "vote centers" and anyone can go to any of the vote centers to vote; computer systems ya know. That’s supposed to be the value in it. We have something like a total of 40 now and we'll end up with about 17 in the future.

A way around the problem for county people is to vote absentee, or go to the municipal building and do advance voting. The way the Dems are running the show, would you trust your vote to advance or mailed in absentee voting?!!

What conservatives, republicans, and other partisan rightists fail to understand (among many, many other things) is that the issue isn’t fraud per se but the percentage of fraudulent incidents, three out of tens of thousands of votes is not statistically appropriate to justify voter restriction measures such as requiring an ID or limiting voting hours.

If the right is going to make an ‘if there’s smoke, there’s fire’ argument, it needs to provide the evidence in support of the argument that there is fraud so wide-spread as to effect the outcome of a given election.

There are, however, no data or evidence to support such an argument, as has been documented in numerous other threads.

Of course the right isn’t interested in facts, data, and evidence, only lies and half-truths perceived to pursue a partisan agenda.

And your evidence in support of this? Can you cite any election in 2008 where voter fraud was prosecuted and a conviction realized? And of those convictions, how many resulted in changing an outcome of that election? Or as suspected is this just more of the same nonsense heard in the rightist echo chamber.
