Apparently they were left alone long enough for one to call 9/11. [My comment]

Missing teenagers Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus found alive after 10 years | World news | guardian.co.uk

Three women who went missing about a decade ago in Cleveland, Ohio, have been found alive in a house a few miles from where they disappeared.

Three brothers in their 50s, including one man who lived in the house, were arrested. One of the women frantically told a 911 dispatcher the person who had taken her was gone, and she pleaded for police officers to come and get her, saying, "I'm free now."

Cheering crowds gathered on the street near the home where police said Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michele Knight were found earlier in the day.

3 missing women found in Cleveland, man arrested
6 May`13 — Three women who went missing separately about a decade ago, when they were in their teens or early 20s, were found alive Monday in a residential area just south of downtown, and a man was arrested.
Cheering crowds gathered Monday night on the street near the home where police said Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michele Knight were found earlier in the day. Police didn't immediately provide any details of how the women were found but said they appeared to be in good health and had been taken to a hospital for evaluation. Berry disappeared at age 16 on April 21, 2003, when she called her sister to say she was getting a ride home from her job at a Burger King. DeJesus went missing at age 14 on her way home from school about a year later. They were found just a few miles from where they had gone missing. Police said Knight was 20 when she went missing around 2000. Police said a 52-year-old man was arrested. There was no immediate word on charges.

Loved ones said they hadn't given up hope of seeing the women again. Among them was Kayla Rogers, a childhood friend of DeJesus. "I've been praying, never forgot about her, ever," Rogers told The Plain Dealer newspaper. "This is amazing. This is a celebration. I'm so happy. I just want to see her walk out of those doors so I can hug her." Berry's cousin Tasheena Mitchell told the newspaper she couldn't wait to have Berry in her arms. "I'm going to hold her, and I'm going to squeeze her and I probably won't let her go," she said. Berry's mother, Louwana Miller, who had been hospitalized for months with pancreatitis and other ailments, died in March 2006. She had spent the previous three years looking for her daughter, whose disappearance took a toll as her health steadily deteriorated, family and friends said. Mayor Frank Jackson expressed gratitude that the three women were found alive. "We have many unanswered questions regarding this case, and the investigation will be ongoing," he said in a statement.

Cleveland police say two women who went missing as teenagers about a decade ago have been found alive in a residential area about two miles south of downtown. Cheering crowds gathered Monday night on the street near the home where police say Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and a third woman were found earlier in the day. The identity of the third woman hasn't been confirmed.

At Metro Health Medical Center, Dr. Gerald Maloney declined to go into details about the women's conditions or answer questions about whether family members were with them. "We're assessing their needs, and the appropriate specialists are evaluating them as well," he said at a news conference, which concluded with a round of applause from a large gathering of area residents. In January, a prison inmate was sentenced to 4 1/2 years after admitting he provided a false burial tip in the disappearance of Berry, who had last been seen the day before her 17th birthday. A judge in Cleveland sentenced Robert Wolford on his guilty plea to obstruction of justice, making a false report and making a false alarm. Last summer, Wolford tipped authorities to look for Berry's remains in a Cleveland lot. He was taken to the location, which was dug up with backhoes. Two men arrested for questioning in the disappearance of DeJesus in 2004 were released from the city jail in 2006 after officers did not find her body during a search of the men's house. One of the men was transferred to the Cuyahoga County Jail on unrelated charges, while the other was allowed to go free, police said.

In September 2006, police acting on a tip tore up the concrete floor of the garage and used a cadaver dog to search unsuccessfully for DeJesus' body. Investigators confiscated 19 pieces of evidence during their search but declined to comment on the significance of the items then. No Amber Alert was issued the day DeJesus failed to return home from school in April 2004 because no one witnessed her abduction. The lack of an Amber Alert angered her father, Felix DeJesus, who said in 2006 he believed the public will listen even if the alerts become routine. "The Amber Alert should work for any missing child," Felix DeJesus said then. "It doesn't have to be an abduction. Whether it's an abduction or a runaway, a child needs to be found. We need to change this law." Cleveland police said then that the alerts must be reserved for cases in which danger is imminent and the public can be of help in locating the suspect and child.

One of the three people was a child from what I understand. I was just listening to it on Imus. A six year old.

A neighbor walking down the street helped her call the cops. He said he thought he knew those guys! Amazing.. Glad they're free now.

This is going to become heartbreaking. Amanda Berry is being reinvented as a racist. The three brothers were only acting within their culture by selecting their brides. The defense grounds are already being laid.

I feel so sorry for these women, who now have children of their rapes. The liberal press is going to have a field day destroying them.

This news story is still developing but what a grand and unusual ending to a tragic event, that altered 3 girls and their families lives, forever. Amanda Berry's mother recently died from health issues attributed to a broken heart.

SNIP:

Berry's mother, Louwana Miller, who had been hospitalized for months with pancreatitis and other ailments, died in March 2006. She had spent the previous three years looking for her daughter, whose disappearance took a toll as her health steadily deteriorated, family and friends said.

SNIP:

A 6-year-old also was found in the home, and Cleveland police Deputy Chief Ed Tomba said Tuesday that the girl is believed to be Berry's daughter. He declined to say who the father was or where the child was born.

There were three adult women and one six year old girl, who is the daughter of one of the three. The girl is believed to be Amanda's daughter.

Scary one of the monsters was a school bus driver!

Say that in six months. By the time liberals and a liberal court system gets done with these guys, they will be persecuted heroes and obama will be making personal calls to them.

To make things even worse, the man who helped rescue these women is black. I doubt he's prepared to become the kind of race traitor the liberal press is going to make of him.

Katz you're making light of this, but this is a truly horrific story. The facts haven't come out yet, but no doubt it will probably be along the lines of daily raping and beating of these three girls, regularly fed scraps, tied up and locked in cold, dark rooms for over a decade and one of them gets pregnant and has the baby in the house. The baby now 6 years old probably never left the house until she finally escaped!

Horrific in every sense of the world!

I see the media has wasted no time trying to exploit these poor people. And you guys are here ta help.

The men actually beat the women into miscarriage when they got pregnant. Now, ordinarily, such treatment would be horrific but in today's terms isn't it really nothing more than abortion? If what Kermit Gosnell did to women can be considered medical treatment, why not beating women into miscarriage. If any babies were born, what happened to them? Sold on the baby market?

If these men are immigrants and likely they are, or even the latest heroes of the left, illegal immigrants, you can bet that support will be crawling out of the woodwork for them. Amanda Berry will be recreated as a racist who got mad at her mexican boyfriend.

The mexican american legal defense fund probably already has lawyers lining up to take this case.

Looks like the psycho wanted to have his own harem. He could have moved to Saudi Arabia or another Muslim country where they allow men to have four wives, and they could be as young as 9 years old, in some of them.

I just hope they torture the asshole, then cut his dick off, and lock him up for good. There is no hope for his type.

Three brothers. Three women. Not exactly a harem although they probably shared a lot.
