Misstating and distorting the contents of a law to complain loudly about something that isn't even happening, in an attempt to demonize someone else whose politics are different, seems to be quite a sport on USMB. Remember the thread a couple of days ago that proclaimed something like "California Legalizes Child Prostitution," which obviously was not so. It's amazing that so many people swallow this tripe, hook, line, and sinker.

Hate crime laws are bullshit, they were just a foot in the door so leftists could regulate thought and speech next by passing "Hatespeech" laws. (Like they did in Canada)

If all men are created equal, there is no need for hate crime laws. Besides, a crime is a crime anyway.

Hate-crime laws were passed to target predators who roam our streets attacking anyone they see who they think is a member of a group that they dislike, for whatever reason that they don't like these people, who often are strangers. Hate-crime laws merely increase the penalties for an underlying crime, like assault, murder, rape, robbery. These laws are necessary due to the fact that we do have feral gangs on our streets, who target passers-by because of their race or their religiously-identified clothing.

There are loony toons fuckheads who run around attacking people of other races or people who wear hijabs, yarmulkes, turbans. etc. For example, how many Sikhs have been attacked, sometimes murdered, by some little monkeys who are so ignorant that they do not know that Sikhs do not cut their hair for religious reasons and the men rap everything up in a turban. And while I never would approve of a Muslim person being attacked, due to my deeply-held beliefs, these same monkeys don't seem to know that Sikhs have nothing to do with the Islamic faith. But they wear turbans. Duh.

These laws are meant to provide more ammunition against these gangs of monkeys who hunt and attack decent people on our streets, but, again, since you don't seem to "get it," a basic, a "traditional" crime must first be committed and established.
