It basically helps cats like me who do not understand why their post will not take. The thread is open for viewing, but not for new replies.

I have a better question: What happens when you post a new thread that follows all the rules and less than 5 minutes later you get an Alert telling you the thread has been moved to a different forum? When you click on the link to the thread, you get an error message ("You do not have permission to do that," or something like that). You try answering the Alert and get the same error message. When you revisit the board a few hours later, both the thread and the Alert have vanished. You click on Contact, explain what happened, and get two days of silence.

True story. Read it fast before this post vanishes as well.

What's hard to understand is how you decided it "had no redeeming value" - particularly given some of the threads that survive on this board - when no one but the mod who moveddisappeared it got to read it.

Maybe it's because they astutely realize that some of us may want to read them. Duh!
