Those on the Left -- I Dare You . . . .

. . . . to go to this thread and give your input.

Go to the last page, start with post #80, watch all 6 clips (it'll take you 35 minutes or so) and speak up. No bashing or dismissing of the host, no eyerolls . . . . just real discussion of the issues in the clips. Don't you have questions? Do you have answers? What's stopping you from participation in this discussion?

http://www.usmessageboard.com/media/85916-beck-open-book-test-6.html

I'm not going to give 35 minutes of my time to watch Glen Beck. I have better things to do than to take your "dare" and listen to that unhinged bastard. Unless of course there's porn involved, then I will study it very closely.

Did you post this in that thread? Go there, post it so it can be discussed.

Zoom, I've tried to be rational, polite, humanistic, diplomatic, reasonable, and passionate when talking with Republicans and Democrats and I have found that its mostly useless. Most often if someone believes something, its because they want to and there's no talking them out of it.

To try and discuss issues, especially when it comes to out-there, conspiracy theory, reactionary subjects, is usuallty pointless and I don't have the energy, time, nor gumption to try today.

I'm quickly becoming a member of the Apathetic Political Party.

So I guess that's a 'no'?

If you want to raise an issue raise an issue. Don't expect rational people to waste 30 minutes of their lives listening to the rants of a drama queen like Beck

Oh...I forgot.......you "dared" us

The 'dare' got you to read this thread.

The issues have been raised in the other thread. But I can see you have nothing to add but name calling. What rule is that again? #3?

Yet you will waste three times that amount of time just today calling people names.

Go figure....

A much better use of my time than listening to Beck. If you think he made some good points, then list them. Don't expect people to spend 30 minutes listening to a moron just so they can conclude that Beck is a moron.

Do you really take this guy seriously?

your bullshit dog don't hunt. you are lazy pure and simple and a drinker of the kos kool aid. you don't want to know. ignorance is bliss. innit?

The various 'lefties' on the broad have answered the initial challenge and yet the wingnuts can only do ad hominems and ask you to listen again and again. It is a hoped for indoctrination by repetition. They are so naive they feel hidden in Beck's stupidity is some truth, not because there is a truth there, but because they don't like Obama so they see the imaginary. It is similar to those who still think 911 was an inside job. You simply can't convince a person who thinks a bogeyman is in the closet is not, even if you open the door.

The curious thing about this paranoia on the right is that they didn't see it in the last administration. When Bush said, "Imagine those 19 hijackers with other weapons, and other plans, this time armed by Saddam Hussein. It would take just one vial, one canister, one crate slipped into this country to bring a day of horror like none we have ever known...." they didn't raise any questions - they followed and obeyed. But do you notice in Bush's words the same insanity Beck uses, imagination. Beck will always qualify his paranoid stupidity, but he will say it just to place fear in the minds of the impressible.

"All propaganda must be so popular and on such an intellectual level, that even the most stupid of those toward whom it is directed will understand it... Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise." Adolf Hitler

I can't listen to all of it. Not all at once, anyway. He sets my teeth on edge.

But he should have finished playing the entire quote from Obama, perhaps he would have understood the point he was making:

"Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, natural gas, you name it; whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.

You can already see what the arguments will be during the general election. People will say, “Ah, Obama and Al Gore, these folks, they’re going to destroy the economy, this is going to cost us eight trillion dollars,” or whatever their number is. If you can’t persuade the American people that yes, there is going to be some increase in electricity rates on the front end, but that over the long term, because of combinations of more efficient energy usage, changing lightbulbs and more efficient appliances, but also technology improving how we can produce clean energy, the economy would benefit.

If we can’t make that argument persuasively enough, you can be Lyndon Johnson, you can be the master of Washington. You’re not going to get that done."

He was addressing how important it is to convince people that it's a critical issue that will have increased costs up front, but with substantial long term benefits. 'Course that went completely over Beck's head.

No, they haven't. And here you are blathering on about Beck, not the issues.

:eusa_hand: Off topic.

Apply this to Obama and his machine.

I don't know what clip you're referring to. If you go to the other thread the issue can be discussed. :)

no explanation, no discussion, just attacks on beck! Why? cause they do not want to know and worse they don't want anybody else to know either, that's why they want to shut him down..

Casinos were legalized here a few years back. One of the possible sites for a new casino was 5 minutes from my house, at the base of a nuclear power plant. Our township provided ZERO information about any of this to the residents, despite being asked numerous, numerous times by the residents. I spoke to the chairman of the BOS about this and was given the typical political run-around. Nothing about it was ever put on the meeting agenda, no information was ever mailed to the residents, no questions were ever put to the residents from the township to get a feel for whether we wanted this or not, no information whatsoever was put on the township's website.

There was a free, local paper at the time and one lone reporter took up the cause to inform people what was going on. Because of that one lone guy, a website was formed to keep people abreast of what was (and what wasn't) going on. Petitions were drawn up and signed, people attended the board meetings even though 'casino' was never on the agenda and they asked a lot of questions in the Q&A portion of the meetings. People got informed and people pushed back. When the hearings were held for each casino to present it's case, the casino looking at the site near me didn't even bother to show up. Yes, we won.

It started with one guy, one voice, asking questions and providing information. Beck is that one guy, asking those questions and providing information . . . yet no one wants to discuss this. So much easier to shoot the messenger.

You do realize Beck is certifiable. Anyone who thinks like this nut, or actually tries to get others to have the same thought processes are just as crazy as he is.

Do you not get it, Beck is nuts.

Now he is saying the red cross is going to be Obama's armed militia. He is freaking nuts and so are his fans.

Fox, fair and balanced.

Really ... anyone who thinks like Obama needs to wake up and stop taking the pills. ;)

All Obama is planning is a much expanded civil service, kinda like Israel only it isn't just military.

Proof please ?

I would like to know what exactly are Obama's "national security objectives"?

Anyone?

I would sooner listen to Adolph Hitler than I would Glen Beck. At least Hitler had some form of sanity.

ROFLMNAO!

NEWSFLASH!

Leftists prefer 'Hitler's form of sanity' to that Glen Beck is working from...

Which serves reason given David's devotion to the cult personality of an obscure rising star with a dubious past, whose gift for gab advocating National Socialism has struck a chord with the lowest common intellect denominator... which is certain to lead the nation to which he has risen to lead, despite his doubtful ties to that nation... into disaster.
