No one is stopping you from doing to your body whatever it is that you want. They are simply saying "do what you want with your body, just dont let a human die during the act".

That's only a part of what I commented on. It's much more about personal responsibility, Morals, Values, etc...

Maybe this will help people "get" where I'm coming from....

I look at the Citizens of the United States like children. Some of them are actually willing and capable of following the rules, doing what they're told, and just being decent people beacuse it's what's right. Most have to touch the stove burner to learn that maybe there's a reason they were told not to do it. The last group are not going to follow the rules no matter what. That last group is larger than the first and only slightly smaller than the second

This country was built around the idea that the FIRST group would be the ones who were primarily in charge and that the second group would have some input, if they could resist the urges to touch the stove burner; and that the third group would be cast out from society or imprisoned for everyone's best interests.

Our country is currently run by the third group, due to the ambivolance of the second group and because the first group has been reduced in size even more these days than they were in the past.

We need to return to that initial scenario if this country is going to work as it was intended to. Otherwise we need to move to an Authoritarian system where that third group can either be removed or incarcerated for the betterment of everyone else.

Santorum is a Neocon. I just can't support Neocons any more than i can support Socialists/Progressives. First one would have to believe that there is some kind of Judgement before Higher Powers. Then one would have to believe that our country's laws should be based on some religious interpretation of Judgement before some higher power.......but which one is a puzzlement.

blu, please tell me you're not actually suggesting that a social Conservative like myself would even be seen with, nevermind speak to or acknowledge the existance of social Liberals like John McCain, nevermind Barrack Obama.

The need for control stems from the fact that too few American citizens are currently able or wiling to lead a decent life WITHOUT that overarching control. That decent life is necessary to maintain the foundation that this country and our government was built upon originally and which has been eroding for the last century and a half. Even more so in the last century.
