Gore promoting fewer children to curb pollution

The global warming debate has always been a touchy one for both sides, and when the world’s top global warming activist is talking about the size of population and how that contributes to the choices societies make, it might be worth taking note.

In an appearance Monday in New York City, former Vice President Al Gore, prominently known for his climate change activism, took on the subject of population size and the role of society in controlling it to reduce pollution.

He offered some ideas about what might be done for females in the name of stabilizing population growth. (h/t Chris Horner via wattsupwiththat.com)

“One of the things we could do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women,” Gore said. “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children have, the spacing of the children.

Uhhhhhh... Hmm. Maybe not a popular message, but by what standard exactly do you think he's wrong?

I think Gore'd have been a great prez. Unfortunately honest doesn't sell in this country. Pie in the sky does.

By the fruits of his message we can determine it. his message is one that has been repeated for well over a century. The consequence: Alot of people tend to end up dead.

So you think the government should be telling a women how many children she should have? China is a good country for you. What is with the left? They'll fight to save a tadpole but when it comes to human babies they have no problem eliminating them... Go figure.:cuckoo:

Don't be an idiot.
First of all, that's not what he said. Not even a little bit.

Second, try to remember that China was about to breed itself into starvation. We're of course nowhere near that point yet, but don't be surprised if it happens one day. Nothing grows in numbers as fast as humans have in the last 75 years without and ultimate plateau and usually immediate and profound drop in population, whether it's bacteria in a petri dish or a species such as ours.

Maybe we should put the U.N. in Charges of this...

OSLO, Oct. 12 — Former Vice President Al Gore, who emerged from his loss in the muddled 2000 presidential election to devote himself to his passion as an environmental crusader, was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, sharing it with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations network of scientists

Algore back in the limelight after the embarrassing Portalnd massuese story................

Now, of course, Gore said no such thing, but CON$ always have to create a Straw Man to argue with!

From the OP:

Gore said. “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children have, the spacing of the children.

Gore is your classic dum-dum son of a powerful senator. Al Gore Sr. was a popular segregationist democrat and Al Jr. lived a privledged life. Senator Gore made sure Al would serve in the typewriter corps in VietNam but Al couldn't take the pressure and lied to the Chaplain that he would enter the seminary if he could get an early release from active duty. With senator Gore's influence Al left Vietnam and quickly forgot his promise to the Chaplain. What's the difference between popular senator Al Gore and Al Gore Jr.? The people of Tennessee didn't know or care so they elected a dum-dum with the same name. Although everyone seemed to know about Bubba Clinton's peculiar sexual appetite it seems that people didn't know Al Gore was a pervert also. What's the chances of having two perverts as pres. and vp? Pretty high if they are democrats. Gore was such a weirdo that his handlers had to teach him how to kiss his own wife in public. When he lost the election something must have snapped. He decided to undermine America's affluence with a phony environmental theory even though he had no background in science. The hypocracy of using ten times more energy in the Gore compound than a "normal" houshold of the same size didn't seem to bother the left. He became the new guru of anti-Americanism and was rewarded by the Nobel committee with the "Peace Prize" which had nothing to do with peace. Later on his peculiar sexual appetite surfaced but that didn't bother the party of Bill Clinton and Barney Frank. I wonder what he gets paid for his incoherent rants?

Al Gore has 4 children. Maybe he needs to get rid of a couple so he doesn't look like a hypocrite.

Eugenics. The Germans used the theory in the 20's and 30's. It fit right in with the Nationalist Socialist party. It became the basis for Planned Parenthood which is the front name for the abortion industry.
