This is why progressive elitists want socialized health care

An employer-sponsored health insurance plan that incorporates wellness incentives? How unusual!

Something, something socialism...OBAMACARE. Boo!

The employer is the state government...

This has nothing to do with socialism as an economic theory and everything to do with the social consequences of socialism.

The government in authoritarian fashion dictates your life and if you don't follow those rules you're going to get fucked one way or another...

This is just an example of big government dictating peoples lives...

Who the fuck is the government to tell people what they can and cannot do or eat???

Then progressives have the fucking audacity to claim they're for individual freedom???

No, no you're not - you're for a government dictated Orwellian society and this new "wellness plan" proves just that...

what industies are nationalized here in the socialist USA?

Unions...

Technically, GE, GM was...

Oh and that energy company that received 500 million in secured loans.

I don't know about you but I would like to see my neighbor taken care of he/she is sick and not lose their home due to 'pre existing' condition or some other small print.

Geez, get an f'in heart will ya?

Who are you responding to, exactly? Because I don't really see anyone here saying we shouldn't take of people who need a hand. The question is how to go about achieving that.

You willing to give up portions of your individual liberty?

You willing to allow others to give up that liberty?

If that's what it takes to help out my neighbor sure. But...like all Reps lately that sounds a bit melodramatic to me. Desperate are we?

You want it?

It comes at a cost...

When Obamafuck talks about "sacrifice" he talks about civil liberties...

You want to "sacrifice?"

If you live in Iowa, you have 2 health care options - in many places 1. This is because our health care system has pumped money into Washington in order to create a no-compete system. This allows health care companies to bypass market discipline so that they can raise rates, decrease coverage, and divert their profits into the pockets of politicians (as opposed to innovative new technologies).

One goal of Obamacare was to introduce competition into this nightmare. Unfortunately, the health insurance companies own too many blue dog democrats, therefore, the final bill turned into a soak-the-poor gift to big business. This is why Obama should face a primary challenge from the Left - because he gave us something akin to Bush's Medicare Part D. Granted, it's not as costly as the Bush/GOP drug plan, but it is every bit the handout to big business, i.e., it was created by and for the corporations who fund elections and staff government.

A second goal of ObamaCare was to stem the tide of bankruptcies to the middle class consumer. An economy cannot function if people lose the ability to consume because they are getting fleeced by monopolized, over-priced, anti-competitive health care. Why is it overpriced? Because companies like Eli Lilly paid congress to crush foreign competition; because companies like Eli Lilly paid congress to prevent the government from seeking volume discounts, thus locking the taxpayer into above market rates, i.e., welfare for drug companies. It is also overpriced because the major health insurers paid Washington for the right to divide-up the states - so they didn't have to face competition, which would force them into the risky waters of innovation and price-cutting in order to vie for consumer dollars. Why risk innovation if you can capture profits from a consumer made captive by years of successful lobbying? The point of lobbying is to lock down markets. Problem is: the GOP has targeted a massive population of passionate sub-literate, under-educated voters who have no idea how the game works. They don't see any of this.

Here is the real kicker. These same dysfunctional monopolies have invested billions into Big Media in order to make any threat to their ill-gotten monopolies look like socialism. Try asking the average republican voter about the billions of dollars big pharma and health insurance has pumped into Washington. Ask them to connect the dots. Ask them to think about how those lobbying dollars distort market outcomes. They will look at you with a blank stare.

Welcome to the final phase of capitalism, i.e., monopolies capture the political and doctrinal systems - they write laws and shape opinions . . . and end competition. (Isn't that what all owners and shareholders want? To own something which does not have to divide-up market share and profits with competitors? Perfect competition is a myth)

Game over.

(Taxes are at their lowest rate in 50 years - under Obama. Over 1/2 the current deficits are from Bush. Why doesn't the average republican voter know this?)

Again: game over.

An economy cannot function without consumers. When consumers have affordable health care, they can drive the economy through consumption. When they don't have affordable heath care, they cannot consume and the economy dies. This is why you cannot let monopolies control necessary staples like energy and health care. Under the ruse of "Free Market" capitalism - which does not exist - we have allowed big business monopolies to bankrupt a large group of consumers in order to make a small group of investors wealthy. When will the Republican voter wake up and start blaming the corporate owners of government?

So you choose security over liberty???

I choose both and can achieve both by being available to help my neighbor. I am not free if my neighbor is oppressed.

My heart is not free, my mind is not free and my conscience is not free, We are free when we live together as one with good will towards ourselves and our fellows.

Wellness plan for Chicago city workers - The SouthtownStar

They want to control your lives under the ruse of "cost."

This is EXACTLY what would happen under Obamacare...

Not only that but they would attack and tax any product the government defines as "unhealthy" killing the businesses that carry or produce the products, hence killing jobs.

i'm having trouble figuring out how allowing people who choose not to get their health under control to pay $50 more a month for their health care is "orweillian" or socialistic.

it is really boring reading the usuaal BS from rightwingnuts.... health care...socialistic... orweillian... blah blah blah blah...

bizarre.

I wouldn't expect you to understand why...

You know my point, you just want to argue and for that you can talk to yourself.

Well, the devil's in the details, eh? Is your idea communal good will an appeal to a higher virtue, or a demand of obedience? Does your notion of living 'together as one' entail an authority telling us when and how to offer good will?

you wouldn't expect *me* to understand? you think you understand things i don't? i'm gonna go with ... nah... i don't think so. (though you calling "lefties" "elitists" (since that's the only thing you can do in "discussion" being you're incapable of actua lly defending your nonsense) while pretending to be superior is kind of funny

you spew nonsense and me calling it what it is is "argu[ing]"??? :cuckoo:

your idea of "freedom" is warped.

you spew words you don't even understand and hate things that you incorrectly define and articulate.

too bad if you don't like your nonsense being called what it is...

now go argue with *yourself*
